What Orwell got wrong is that today it's not our governments and their parties which are the greatest threat to our freedoms (including that of speech), but *self*-censorship from the side of the media and constant pressure from *non-government* NGOs. Even our governments and political parties are scared shitless of the pc crowd, even though they represent just a minority's opinion. Orwell would be surprised.
