I like crusader kings 2 the best because you play as an actual leader instead of a nebulous state. It's the only strategy game where shady backroom deals and Jewish level scheming are possible since you deal with individuals directly instead of states.

Yeah, 1.3 was disappointing. Expert mode blew, and it didn't even do what it promised. So many items didn't have their drop chances increased, basically just making the mode about never exploring because monsters are annoying.
Moon Lord used to be really fun, but then they buffed him to insane heights to make sure babies couldn't cheese him, and now he's a chore. Pillars would be more fun if the enemies actually dropped anything.

Squad is one of those games that I can play for hours. The intensity of the combat and sound effects are insane.

It's honestly pretty simple, I would just recommend starting as Portugal or England, which let you learn the trading and colonizing aspects of the game while being fairly isolated from European politics. Then, try playing as Austria, which will teach everything you need to know about diplomacy.
After that, you can literally do anything. I recommend restoring Byzantium to its former glory, and removing kebab in the process, although that takes some practice.

Some people hated all the "preaching" and Raiden. But Metal Gear Solid 2 evolves with you as you get older. The game just gets deeper and deeper the older I get.
