Word of advice, don't go directly from GMU or GU Ny to Officers programmet. We have a few officers who did, and they are catastrophic failures. Working as a soldier is not very well paid, but it's loads of fun over all.

After 20 years of marching, driving a tank or commanding a bunch of morons who do the above you'll be in a marketplace against people who've been in their line of work (programming, law, manufacturing or whatever) during all that time, perfecting their trade and learning all of its intricacies.
