Welfare is just another form of slavery. The Democrats want to foster reliance not only on the State but on their party in particular. They tell the minorities that they need the Democrats otherwise they won't survive. Those that stand up and vote Republican or express views contrary to that of the party are admonished and told to get back in line.

Conservative and liberal back then were far more alike than myself (traditional liberal) and what liberals have become.
