But what are "your people"? Europeans? Canada has been accepting immigrants and foreign workers from Europe and eastern Asia since the late 19th century, and it became a country in 1867. We've always been taking people in from everywhere, there wasn't a single culture that was uniquely Canadian the way there was and is in places like Europe and the US. I love Iraqi Christians - some of my best friends over the years have been from that community.
