How did the first person become racist? Children do not have the mental development to be racist. Once they grow up they realize the benefits of banning together with like-minded people with similar physical characteristics.
You could make an argument that it is true that today babies would not grow up racist, but I would argue that this is because of our culture and how we condemn racism. They would pick up from our racist-hating culture.
If you put two babies, one black and one white in a room together in isolation and had them grow up together they would likely become friends because they are "similar" to each other for all they know. But when you add in a fuck load of other people, divides start to be created. White people didn't start hating black people because of their skin, they did it because they grew up with white people and made friends with white people and then they came across black people and recognized they were different and likely posed a threat.
