If atheist are so sure of their beliefs without any proof, how can they say that those who believe in God without proof are wrong?

Checkmate atheistfags
>>
They can't. They have been taught to follow the infallible "ways of the scientific method". They are basically ahead in some areas and waaaay behind in other areas of human development. You can't argue with them without ridicule from their "community" and "consensus". Some things are just beyond science and you will have to come to accept that. That is what your beliefs require anyway ... right?

I have found this to be unfortunately true. My mother came up with her own religion based around various other religions. When she got cancer(and did end up dying from it) she asked me to get her a bible, she prayed, had questions about faith and God.
The thing is, atheism doesn't give people hope. Hope is immutable, it permeates all human existence. We all want to have it. People who commit suicide often feel hopeless. Atheism is great for being edgy while things are fine, but when shit gets real you'll end up on your knees searching for hope and God. Atheism doesn't add to the possibilities of your life, it subtracts from it. It's not there to support you when you need it to begin with because it's design to bring you down.

>Some things are just beyond science

Solution: make shit up
>>
>>71800773
Oh look, another atheism strawman argument.

>atheist are so sure of their beliefs
We're not.
>those who believe in God without proof are wrong
Nobody ever said that.

>Theism is a stance on belief.
>Gnosticism is a stance on knowledge.
Learn to differentiate the two.

Atheists agree that agnosticism is the right stance, as God (or any other deity / paranormal entity) can be neither proven nor disproven. But that completely missed the point of religious affiliation.
When referring to religion, the question isn't "what do you know / what can you prove", the question is "what do you BELIEVE". And atheism argues that despite not being able to prove nor disprove God, the supporting evidence is so unconvincing that it's unreasonable to believe in one.

>>71802050
I agree religion might give you inspiration or hope, but that doesn't make it true.
I agree people might seek refuge in religion in life threatening situations, but that doesn't make it true.
Instead of believing in something obviously fake just for the sake of emotional comfort, why not toughen up and find another source of hope that has a basis in reality?

>If atheist are so sure of their beliefs without any proof, how can they say that those who believe in God without proof are wrong?

Arguments without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.
Ex; OP, Obama actually lives in your wardrobe and is having sex with Trump right now while Bernie and Hillary are watching and drinking bleach.

who is this stupid bitch on the pic?
it gets posted every now and then and I can't stand her fucking face, I'd like to wipe it out with a single direct punch of the face.

I assume it's some character aligned with right wing idiocy because it gets posted by christfags and the like

>Atheism doesn't add to the possibilities of your life, it subtracts from it. It's not there to support you when you need it to begin with because it's design to bring you down.

Sure atheism can add possibilities to your life. It all depends on yourself and what use you have for atheism or theism. They only collide when you're stupid.

Nope, I stopped watching new movies like 6 years ago, I only watch a few ones after finding the plot to be interesting, and even then I investigate lots of reviews.

I find reading to be much more fulfilling especially because I can avoid seeing punchable faces like the one in the OP.

That's like intentionally severing an arm and saying you did it for the new experiences of having less appendages. Sure, your aren't wrong, you are experiencing things you haven't before. But it's very clear from every other perspective it's just a subtraction from you and your possibilities.
Atheism is a limiter.

What the fuck are you even talking about?

The only possibility in life I've lost is being a priest, and that's not an experience I'm interested in. To paraphrase: "Name me one act that a person of religion can do and an atheist cannot"

It's probably true though to some extent. Could you imagine how fucked up the Arab world would be without religion?

I didn't know Carlin said shitty quotes from r/Atheism
>>
Believing that there is Something out there that's responsible for and beyond what we can appreciate with our senses or measure in some way is one thing.

Believing in an anthropomorphic rule-giver who is subject to jealousies, fits of rage who created a dark god who is responsible for everything we call evil and who only officially communicates through people who lived 2000 years ago is quite another.

>>71804709

Just like homosexuality has "removed" itself by natural selection, right?
>>
>>71805426
Genes aren't the only contributing factor, of course. But twin studies have shown that religiosity is indeed owned in large parts to genetic endowment.

Nice buzzword you got there, bet you had to google how to spell it.

>Being afraid of the now, overwhelming evidence that support this is kinda like the symptoms of schizophrenia.

Losing touch with reality( books upon boobs, movies, documentaries exposing thsi shit), dysfunctional ways of thinking (beliving anything the govement says ).
>>
>>71804830
I know Carlin. Carlin was funny. Hence why I'm skeptical of the quote
>>
>>71805794
>bet you had to google how to spell it.

is knowing how to spell words is an acievemwnt now?

>overwhelming evidence

some retard on youtube is not overwhelming anything, neither is a book with no facts to actually back up whatever is written in it

and btw, yes, believing that the world and literally everything in it is secretly run by a satanic cult is pretty schizophrenic
>>
>>71805644
>twin studies
Nice source. Also, even if separated at birth, they're almost certain to be raised at least in the same country. If that country is 95% religious then they'll both be 95% likely to be religious. What this means is that you need a huge sample size to find any meaningful correlation. And how many twins can you find in a country that have been separated at birth and raised in entirely different conditions? I'm calling bullshit until you provide a source.

>>
>>71806322
Those are pretty shit to be honest

Half of the first link is anecdotal, the rest is "some studies in a few countries show..." with no original source stated.
Second is wikipedia and references what you linked last
Third link article ends with
>But McGue says the new work suggests that being raised in a religious household may affect a person’s long-term psychological state less than previously thought. But he says the influence from this early socialisation may re-emerge later on, when the twins have families of their own. He also points out that the finding may not be universal because the research focused on a single population of US men.
4th is entirely anecdotal.
5th is the only source with any validity. And even if true it's not the first mental illness to be inheritable.
>>
>>71807169
Anecdotal? It's a pop-science summary of previous studies.

Here's something more scientific:
midus.wisc.edu/findings/pdfs/1268.pdf

By the way, religiosity isn't the only thing influences by genes. There's also political leanings and criminality.
