So I just finished watching this, thinking it would be hilarious to see what silly things people would do in front of a Hitler impersonator, but in the end I felt no joy or humor. Only inspiration.
This film and the book it was adapted from, was made to serve as a cautionary tale against the evils of traditionally right-wing values of nationalism and sanity. The end of the movie is made to be part of the scare tactic to teach viewers that those who wish to defend their country from foreign invaders are evil racists who should be ostracized from society. I felt no joy at the end as they showed clips of people marching against foreign immigrants, of people heiling, of the violent nature of disenfranchised people.
I honestly expected it to be a massive shitshow of how evil everything was, and to have multiple instances of muh gorrilion, but it was actually pretty fair.

the movie itself used "Hitler" as a plot device almost as much as a character, little of what Hitler actually believed, as a brooding, complex, emotional man, made it into the movie, now that would have been interesting.
The movie mainly used him to reflect people right wing views back at them so associate the 2 ideas, and then to show how easy it is for an asshole to use populism to gain power, that it

That was the most unbelievable part of the movie.
Just watched the film, it was better than it had any right being as a german film in 2016, but a large amount of it WAS strawman (hitler loved animals and the environment)
I think the most important thing to take away from this film is that there are still white people willing to see the side of reason and who will climb on board for the preservation of our culture and the future for white children when a real leader comes forward.
