Hey /pol/. Help with this, i , twice heard a claim that if Trump had merely parked his inheritance money in an investment account he'd be even richer. Is this for real? If so, does this cast doubt on his business acumen?

If he would have done that he wouldn't have employed 70K people a year for Close to a billion dollars per year.

It's for real if you if you assume he had zero expenses, paid no taxes, and reinvested 100% of his earnings over the entirety of that period of time
So in other words, no, it's not real. Second, by the time his father passed and he collected his inheritance, he was already a successful businessman. He father leaving him money was nice, but not a game changer. And it was divided amongst all his children to boot.

broken window fallacy
If he would have done that he wouldn't have employed 70k people per years he wouldn't have built a 100 skyscrapers, golf courses, hotels, resorts, casinos ect. He wouldn't have had a #1 hit TV show, he wouldn't have 3 best sellers.
He is worth 10 billion a year his company makes damn near a billion per year

Just looked this up. So is it possible to claim that the overall benefits of this investment might (not nec would have) even have been better if it were out of the hands of Trump?
there is a great unbiased documentary on youtube about how donald trump built his wealth (lost the link though). he basically started out really successful, then he had a string of failures as a result of the economic crisis in the 90's as well as personal problems / divorces. he nearly went backrupt as a result. i also believe that many of his trusted managers died in a helicopter crash which hurt him a lot because he never managed to find competent replacements. eventually he bounced back and became richer than ever before by focusing more on the trump name as a brand, rather than going around the world and building/maintaining multi-billion dollar ventures. donald trump is amazing at making deals and creating a successful business (something he often brags about it) but hes not so great at maintaining the businesses once hes built them because he doesn't enjoy it. notice how trump always brags about how he created many successful businesses, but he never says that he enjoys running them. he just hires competent people to do it for him.
the way trump put it, hes at his best when hes clawing his way out of a ditch. he initially thought "he'd made it" and that everything he would do would be successful, hence he nearly went bankrupt. a mistake he will never make again. this is also why i believe he will beat clinton.

Thanks for the considered reply. So, Trump being as you describe him, do you think he is well suited to being President? Will the job be suited to his style as a deal maker, initiator, instigator?

Super watered down easy to digest version:
>If Trump had received all the money when he took out a loan he would have more cash
>Despite what people lead you to believe, he didn't get the money until many years later and investing it would not have produced the same amount of wealth
>The money he received is also not just free money
>It was a result of him working for his father and expanding the company considerably under his management
Putting the money in an investment account also wouldn't have provided thousands of people with jobs
Trump is the only one of his brothers to turn his inheritance money into a fortune

*if trump had received and invested all the money

Also he actually had an enjoyable life rather than being a depressed stingy kike hoarding his money away.

>liberals outnumber conservatives
Is that why Republicans control the most Governors, state Congresses and the US House of Representatives and the US Senate and the Speaker of the House and Senate majority leader are Republicans?
