What is up for debate is whether humans are a major influence, minor influence or an irrelevant blip. Also up for debate is whether the West, being the only society interested in alteringour ways to address the change should cripple ourselves economically to "fix" something we may not even be causing when places like africa china and russia will continue to belch massive amounts of carbon into the atmosphere regardless of what we do. All that would accomplish is to have us fall as the world superpower and a less environmentally conscious power(china) replace us.
Thirdly, up for debate is whether the warming climate is actually a bad thing at all, Canada and Russia are set to gain immense resources and wealth if the global climate warms.
Most of the "Climate Change" narrative is just fear-mongering political/economic opportunism and half baked scientific conclusions based on the unfounded assumption that uncontrolled change is automatically bad.
