A lot of it has become part of mainstream economics.

>marxist theory
The only ones that really swallow that shit are stupidly naive university students or "revolutionaries" looking for a reason to chimp out, like the red capuchos from UNAL that worship hippies like che guevara and camilo torres

Pretty much 0% I'd guess.

But Marx's analysis of capitalism and many of the problems he identified are spot on, and it influenced mainstream economics greatly.

Capitalism can end up destroying the free market and failing both workers and consumers. Everybody understands that. Economists and law makers know that. Every modern economies have laws to prevent some of the problems before they inevitably occur.

Marx's solutions aren't usually accepted though.

These are pretty rare.

A lot of people will agree with a lot of what Marx wrote (and he is right on a lot of things), but a "Marxist" usually means someone who supports socialism in its classical sense (common ownership of the means of production, ban capitalism or outlaw private property to some large extent, etc). This doesn't make much sense nowadays.

where can you find marxists today?

you need to remember we have next to us venezuela.

I wonder how is venezuela seen today by mainstream economics and wonder if there's the chance it will happen again in other places.
