What the fuck is it supposed to prove having him say something?

That being said, the destruction of our planet, regardless of what crazy leftists picture it as, or as wacked out right wings see it, is our greatest issue in the long-run. We are facing an issue where we are being far too wasteful and raising pollution.

That being said Bill Nye is a fucking faggot who can suck my dick.

No, it's even worse that somebody who's highly influential among people who trust the judgement of scientists is making completely non-scientific assertions that would cause young people to lean towards a liberal perspective, instead of limiting his scope of observation to a purely scientific realm.

The statement he made about race is completely contradictory of the fundamental mechanism of evolution, and implies that organisms within the same species cannot contain genetic differences, and that new species just pop up randomly one day through mutation.

People like him are the reason I'm skeptical of climate change. It's simply not my field of expertise, and scientists have proven their not immune to political pressure. No scientist could ever get funding from the community if he were to ever attempt to conduct social experiments dealing with race, or attempt to disprove human-caused climate change.

Literally all of these things aren't unreasonable or indeed: lies.

We are of the same species as niggers, that is undeniable at this point. That doesn't mean that every black person as identical DNA/genetics as every white person. Indeed, white people have different DNA. That doesn't mean that they should be included into western civilization, nor that they have traits inferior to us, just like they would have traits superior to us. Only difference is that they evolved to be suited to different environments to us. And that over their evolution, aggressive traits were not reduced. Taker the MAOA gene, perfect example.

Also: there's nothing immoral with having roughly half of the scientists in the world as women. It's only when we cross the line into forcing people to do or not do things that this becomes an issue.

Pic related: a black guy that is whiter than many whites.

>Also: there's nothing immoral with having roughly half of the scientists in the world as women. It's only when we cross the line into forcing people to do or not do things that this becomes an issue.

I agree, but that isn't the narrative he's pushing. The narrative that's being pushed is that society is responsible for women not going into science, therefore we need to change the way we act to cater to them. It is even worse because it's being pushed by a group of insane people that believe society is not only responsible for the choices of women, but is a malevolent force that attempts to oppress them.

Arguing against this for a second, Humans are an animal that is capable of much much more than any other organism we've ever seen, and can cause an unprecedented level of extinction if we're not careful.

The introduction of Trees as an organism managed to cause an extinction level event on earth at one point in time. Human's are obviously far more impactful than trees in a short period of time.

All races of humanity are the same species, however there are different subspecies. Still capable of interbreeding, yet showing marked anthropological differences (way beyond just skin color).

Anthropologists can tell whether a human is African, Mongoloid (Asian), European, or Australian Aborigine by examining the shape of their skull. There are differences in the ligature, musculature, skeletal structure, average heights and weights and IQs and testosterone levels and social behavior etc etc.

Do you say that a chihuahua and a pitbull are exactly the same animal? No difference? They can interbreed. Whether you term it different "breeds" or "subspecies," it's the same thing.
>>

Abbos are still Homo sapiens. They're in fact more closely related to whites and asians than some populations in Africa because they were apart of the group of Humans that departed out of Africa at the same time.

Generally, it's believed that every human on Earth doesn't differ genetically by more than roughly 50,000 years, which isn't usually enough of a seperation to produce different species

But Dawkins seems to be getting more and more redpilled these days. He's started shifting his focus to roasting mudslimes and SJW's. Plus he accepts that races are subspecies and have different capabilities(which really is a no-brainier since he is an evolutionary biologist)
>>
>>71789122
Pretty sure there's speculation that AA interbred with some form of archaic human, research shows interbreeding with both Neanderthals and Denisovans, plus more recent interbreeding with modern Indians some 4-5000 years ago. They were the first group of humans to leave Africa, and so have had the most time to actually evolve separate from all 3 other subspecies of Human.

AA left Africa some 70k years ago apparently.

I'm not sure if what you were saying was meant to be a challenge to what I said or not, but I completely agree with what you have said. Well, I agree with you that we are all the same species, however my point is that the 4 big "races" of humanity follow trends. In other words, Caucasoids are more similar to each other than they are to Africans or Mongoloids etc.

Basically I'm disagreeing with your (supposed) statement that differences between races are just standard genetic variation and not a marked divide (ie a subspecies) brought on by 50-70k years of separate evolution in different environments.

I could just be misinterpreting your statement.
>>
>>71789903
Hmm, didn't know that. The dates of Homo Sapiens leaving Africa are a widely debated subject so it's hard to find a consistent date, but your theory makes sense. Abos are obviously not completely apart of the same group of other non-Africans because they don't contain Neanderthal DNA.

Private industry is good at pursuing profits, nothing more. There's no short-term money to be made from addressing climate change, thus private industry will do fuck all about it. This then necessitates Government action. In Australia under our carbon tax, emissions went down every single quarter, and a vast amount of additional revenue was generated. Since it was removed and replaced with "direct action" (literally giving billions of taxpayer dollars to polluters in the hope they build some solar panels), emissions have started rising again, the government is in even more financial strife and the unemployment rate is at record highs. Private industry cannot be trusted with any important issues; for more evidence of this see the US health system. You pay TRIPLE per capita just from taxes than any other country, and you still have to pay exorbitant amounts to private companies on top of that, while the rest of the developed world gets it for free with their nice government-run systems. In the US, massive companies literally piss in the mouths of the general populace and tell them it's raining. And you're all slurping it up, it's pathetic.

No, he isn't.

He's a "scientist" who has no understanding of the practical means to achieve goals.

To bill, global warming is paramount, so we must do everything to fix it. No actual area to focus on, no idea of who is going to pay for it, no massive donations on his part, and no idea of how it will impact the economy.

Furthermore, he has no idea how he's going to force other countries how to cooperate.

Yet, at the same time he wants to tell us what we need to do.

Fact is that a scientist has no place dictating policy. The impact of policy is not something we can do full science on; it's out of his depth.

If you don't understand why Pluto was reclassified you shouldn't be commenting about it, nor should you blame a single scientist for it.

Making a sundial for Mars is badass and if you don't understand why, I don't believe you have much interest in science at all. So you really don't get to define 'scientist'

I saw him give a talk when he came to my University. There was a massive lineup just to get in the hall. Everyone I spoke to after the event said it was amazing.

The talk was complete fucking shit. Rambling all over the place. You could see he was trying to thread together a cohesive point with everything, but consistently failing. Then at the end he tacks on five minutes of "you guys are the future, you can change the world!" Just awful.

I really had that nostalgic 90's fag view of Bill Nye before the talk.

Siberian "perma" frost and Greenland's glaciers are already melting. Low-lying Pacific islands are already becoming inundated. Every single national science organisation in the world (CSIRO, NASA etc.) all state without qualification that climate change is real, we are contributing to it, and that it is the largest danger we face as a species. 99% of those who oppose it are in the pocket of the fossil fuel industry, trying to sow doubt and indecision - just so oil and mining companies can have a few more decades of billion-dollar profits. >Siberian "perma" frost and Greenland's glaciers are already melting
They've been "melting" for years. They'll eventually refreeze later on after they actually melt anyway.
When are we going to see the effects of global warming?

>Every single national science organisation in the world (CSIRO, NASA etc.) all state without qualification that climate change is real
True. The climate undoubtedly changes.

False. There's no proof.

I dunno, maybe here: http://www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/religionandethicsreport/what-do-you-do-when-your-country-is-sinking/7340512.

Their island is literally sinking into the sea. There's a reason that Pacific nations are the most vociferous proponents of climate action. They are seeing the impacts first hand.

Please read this: http://climate.nasa.gov/scientific-consensus/

If you really think there's "no proof" for anthropogenic climate change, you're insanely delusional.

I don't see any massive Corporations promoting climate change acceptance at all. They don't need to, scientists tell us all we need. Those same scientists could easily take million-dollar payouts from fossil-fuel companies, which would far dwarf the remuneration they receive from often non-profit research organisations. However, science is about integrity and truth, hence why 97% of climate scientists accept that humans are causing the earths climate to change.

Well, he's not entirely wrong in principle about the girls. It would make sense to capitalize on ALL the existing labour force and enable them to avhieve whatever it is they can do the best, whatever that will turn out to be.

On the other hand you cant be a dumb commie about it and randomly decide they have to be x or y because it suits your personl vision of society. Mankind never needed 50% of its population, let alone only among the males, to achieve what it has.

Plus it's hilarious to help a basic degree engineer project his own scientific inadequacies on 50% on the world population. Of he cares so much about it, why isnt he a scientist himself? He certainly can afford the tuition fees.

Wrong wrong wrong

If you think corporations are the only ones who influence the debate you are not looking at the complete picture. Government and institutions stand to gain from this, ones that wouldn't exist if there wasn't consensus on this problem. Ones that aren't ending the problem but by implicit acceptance of this "problem" they profit and live comfortably running their not for profits and never actually taking action that dfinitively ends the problem.

That's literally your argument. Do you have any idea how retarded you sound? Increased Co2 levels that impact climate change didn't manifest until the end of the industrial revolution, hence the NASA chart. Of course scientists realise that the climate has changed significantly before. However they also realise that the current rate of change not due to natural forces, and humans are the primary cause. It's really quite simple. If they wanted to suppress this chart, they wouldn't release it. The scientists behind the chart you have are the exact same scientists telling us that climate change is real; you're just too simple minded to understand the complexity of their research.

It's just fallacious, and demonstrates an entirely simplistic understanding of science. Of course scientists aren't right 100% of the time; however when something is as agreed upon as AGW, it's just retarded to wholesale deny it. The exact impacts and processes of it are still not completely settled upon - but the fact that it is occurring most certainly is.

Woah woah woah. A sundial, for mars.

Dude just count in earth hours for how long Mars rotates around his axis. Its 24.6229 hours. So what you do on mars (if you ever get on it) is bring a modified digital clock, and you are done.

Why the fuck would someone spend time inventing a sundial for mars? YOU ALREADY HAVE THE SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM?

Jesus fucking Christ please learn to read the graphs you link so your sources don't blatantly contradict your argument you colossal fucking retard.

Right, I'm the retard, but you keep pointing out the same irrelevant bullshit.

Kudos.

>It matters not. The flora and fauna of the current day is adapted to the current conditions.
And why wouldn't we adapt? Humans are the best adapters we've ever encountered.

Yep. Pretty hard to.

Why does Al Gore being wrong about climate sceince nullify the professional opinions of 97% of climate scientists?

Explain this.

Replace water vapor with methane and see how livable this planet will be.
>>
>>71801706
Nah I'm just fucking with you m8. I've read the same thing you have, I'm just not convinced this isn't the modern equivalent of people hearing the voice of their dead relatives in ham radio static.

I remain unconvinced they aren't just picking favorable data points out of a sea of statistical noise. They claim to have a model but then their models predictive power is BTFO.

In the end it doesn't matter who is wrong or right. Humans will continue using resources and the ONLY logical path forward is investment in technologies that can deal with the potential problems.

Reducing consumption is a non-starter. Modern green tech is just a money siphon for government gibsmedats that don't solve any of the problems long term but instead shift the carbon, a veritable 3 card montey with carbon footprints lel.

>Cucked science man redpilled?

No. Climate change is not the number one priority we have now. We have fucking endless wars going on in the Middle East, countries in Europe going bankrupt, illegal mass immigration crisis in both the US and in Europe. There is much more than climate change in which many scientists agree / disagree on. I'm sick of Bill Nye's democrat cock sucking.

Water vapour is an extremely potent greenhouse gas. It absorbs a huge amount of IR radiation.

We might with our technology. We might be able to force adaptation in our crops and farm animals.
For the rest of the environment it will be adapt or die. The faster the change to more likely the outcome will be die.

Nice reputable scientific source for your information you have there. Definitely trumps NASA and every national scientific research organisation in the world.

I was going to type up a big post explaining why you're wrong, but that's too much effort. Read this instead:

Climatologists are to meteorologists what astrologers are to astronomers.

They pretend they can see the future in the iterative magnification of statistical imprecision in their models, just like fortunetellers of old read futures with tarot cards. And, like fortunetellers of old, they can't even get it wrong often enough to be a reliable predictor on the contrary.

It won't be the first time people have died by the millions to sell snake oil, and it won't be the last. The name Bill Nye will one day join those of Lysenko and Mengele in infamy.
>>
>>71802838
What would NASA be wrong about? A theory?

There's competing theories you know. Just because NASA holds one doesn't mean it's necessarily the most legitimate one

It'll never be over.

i agree.... they believe in climate change....They are wrong
>>
>>71802774
Well let's take a look at your sources here

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Heartland_Institute
>In the decade after 2000, the Heartland Institute became a leading supporter of climate change denial. It rejects the scientific consensus on global warming, disputes that human activity is driving the warming, and says that policies to fight it would be damaging to the economy.

A political activist group? Not the most unbiased source, but that's ok as long as the author is an accredited scientist

>Ph.D. (2001) in Applied Philosophy from Bowling Green State University

Huh, guess not

>>71802838
No, NASA agrees with that. You're just a retard for misinterpreting the data.
>>
>>71802641
Adapting does automatically mean thriving. For many species to adapt simply means to migrate, for others a change in behaviour might be enough, for some it will mean death.
You are aware of the concept of extinction I presume. Not all species are lucky enough to adapt.
