Even if some argue philosophically that there is no such thing as "progress" as the human quality is what always mattered, there will always be people that think humanity CAN progress with technology. Curiosity will drive us forward, but I will argue that it's not necessarily progress.
The fundamental question to ask is this: did humanity improve due to technology? Are we truly happier, and are we living a more meaningful life more than people did in the past?
