Just finished it. That movie was INSANELY GOOD. I recommend everyone with Netflix watch it. If you don't have Netflix, ask a friend who has it for their login info, because this movie is about as redpilled as it gets.

its a comedy that revolves around the idea of nationalism and "racism" bubbling below the surface of german society, and how humour is being used to essentially legitimise national socialist values and aspirations again. Considering the society it was released into, you have to assume that "hitler is evil" is a given, and they are attempting a cautionary tale about how easy it is for an articulate "psychopath" with a vision to manipulate the emotions of the public to support what amounts to genocide. Fails due to complexity and ends up seeming almost pro nazi considering how civil and charismatic they portray hitler as, with exception of that dog bit.

Hitler is shown as a hypocrite prone to killing even when it comes to animals and nature and the ending message even compares anti-immigration people with nazism.
Of course, the only muslim on video is a meek old lady who works hard in her little store and the only black guy is a tv-host.
It's pretty clearly propaganda, it just backfires because the directors never bothered to put something that actually promotes their own message, they just bashed on the opposition.
Which makes for a pretty entertaining movie over-all, seeing Hitler going around Germany, showing and telling what's wrong with it. Even if the directors meant for him to be in the wrong, the problems shown are still very real.

I remember this other Hitler documentary thing that used actors to portray hitler and nazis. They had a part in WW1 with hitler in the trenches with other soldiers where a german shepard wouldnt stop barking and he started whipping it with a whistle on a rope until it stopped and other soldiers were horrified by it.
I was in like 10th grade and even then i was like "Yeah I doubt that happened. They just wanted to make him look as evil and unstable as possible."

Definitely not that great like ending/basically the entire second half of the movie was just not that good at all forst half was good and it did pose the dilemma of "wow his message actually is making sense a little but wait hes supposed to be a comedian imitating Hitler wtf is this ok?" I think if people were borderline red pilled or on the edge then this kind of represents how some think about the Nazi stuff and how they try and rationalize this seemingly super obvious bad being so appealing

I saw the book I presume this is based on months ago and was tempted to buy it. Has anyone read it? The only thing that stopped me was my thorough disillusionment with modern authors.
Has an amazing ending. I know it wants me to feel concerned with people accepting Hitler but I guess I do to. The world could use another strong leader.

They managed to portray Hitler in exactly the right way; charismatic, and assertive
First half was more like a comedy, then the second half was used as a sort of fear-mongering, cautionary tale kind of thing, which worked
That bit where they parodied Downfall was hilarious
But a very interesting movie. Gets you thinking
