Not to mention to get into challenger in League requires a serious amount of hours put into that game. On top of that you need a lot of practice in teams to even find a good team or get decent as team so you can earn something.
The difficulties you face are so much against you that you'll be off more succesful if you just focus on getting a Bsc in something decent within 4 years and then a job. In USA that will land you easily a 50-60k starting job that will grow by 1.5 that amount over 3-4 years or so.
So in 8 years you're actually somewhere instead of having made only 30k from streaming, tournaments and a whole lot of other crap that consumed all your time but lead nowhere.
It is as much of a solid career choice as buying lottery tickets is imo.

I used to like Starcraft 1. The Korean pro scene was pretty degenerate in terms of lifestyle, but the games were impressive, complex, and everything was presented very clearly.
