Minimum wage increases do not predict inflationary rates or employment-population ratios, a new report by anybody with an Internet connection, some free time, and LibeOffice Calc, could have come up with.

https://www.scribd.com/doc/310117157/Correlation-Between-Change-in-Minimum-Wage-and-Inflation-Also-Unemployment

So now that centuries of economic "theory" have been soundly refuted by empirical data, can we move on and discuss just how how the new minimum wage ought to be?

It's a good thing but even if they also automated the food making process that doesn't mean the people that clean up should be getting $15 an hour. The supply of talentless masses is too high to demand anything above $10 an hour for the majority of entry level positions.

Minimum wage should be $0.00. Market forces will determine the value of labor.

Also, if you are doing a minimum wage job and over the age of 19....please kill yourself. Your life isn't going to be worth living.
>>
>>71760849
>implying government mandated wages weren't coming at the back end of market labor values increasing

If company x pays employees 7.25 an hour as a company set minimum wage and company y pays employees 10.00 an hour while both companies are in the same market for labor (low skilled wage) and operate at similar margins in a similar market, then company x has to raise their company minimum wage to stay competitive with the local labor market. So, the government raising the minimum wage to 8.00 doesn't affect that market at all because the free market of labor valued labor at higher than what the government did, only problem is now people who are disabled and such and are half as productive can only negotiate at at least 8.00 an hour and are going to be more dead weight subsidized by the government (read: you and I.)

If the market is pushed into significantly higher wages (à la a double in min wage) then it would fuck up the labor market and currency value.

TL;DR: government mandates should coincide with market standards instead of enforcing them

1) minimum wage does cause unemployment by creating an artificial price floor on labor.

2) minimum wage is a response to government/central bank caused inflation.

Say a man working at a tech company making $16/hour and burger flippers $7.25/hour at present in NYC.

Over the span of two years (as the NYC law makers have predicted) the min wage will increase gradually to an end goal of $15/hour.

Over the course of those two years the tech man will get a 3%raise every year so hel be making $17/hour now.... but his compatriots in the burger king 20 floors below him will suddenly be making 2 dollars less than him - putting both jobs on an almost equal level.

Tech man worked hard for a degree and is now getting fucked by the system.

Fuck that.

I support minimum wage increases because it forces businesses to automate things.
>>
>>71760849
According to this data:
the main thing I noticed is the only time when there was a significant correlation was in 1950 when the minimum wage was raised from $0.40 per hour to $0.75 per hour (85% increase).
This is the most significant percentage increase in minimum wage in history.
This has never happened again, but the one time it did, it had a negative effect on unemployment for about 5 years.
Now what berniggers are proposing is to increase the minimum wage by 100%.

I think you kinda beat yourself the fuck out, OP.

Government data isn't always the truth. Here's a prime example. The UK loves to boast how their homicide rate is super low but what they don't mention is they only classify a murder as homicide after there has been a trial and sentencing. So there could have 5 processed homicide cases and 50 thousand unprocessed cases so they will say there have been 5 homicides for the year.

Pretty much. The minimum wage has been increased numerous times including several times in the last 10 years but it has done nothing to combat poverty or wealth inequality. There is no reason to believe future increases would somehow have effects that were not realized in any of the previous increases.
>>
reminder that the only reason entry level jobs pay shit wages is immigration. this is why all the ultra-rich and landowners promote immigration through mass media, bribed university professors and bought politicians. they want to pay their employees less.

if you want to help the working class go vote for a candidate that wants to deport immigrants. raising the minimum wage doesn't solve anything.
>>
>>71764393
The thing with minimum wages is that it's true, small adjustments in the wage (small relative to cost of living) have little to no impact in the short term, if in the long term minimum wage grows faster than inflation you will necessarily see a reduction in labor as an input of production. As mechanization increases, that labor will need to find new ways to be utilized, if the economy is not prepared to shift these newly unemployed into new sectors they will become systemically unemployed and represent a major dead weight imposed upon society as they become liabilities for social programs.

Japan, funnily enough, understands this. All of the cuckonomics experts whine about how the goyim need more immigrants, but in Japan despite the economy 'stagnating', standards of living are rising and the cost of living is falling, the birth rate as such is beginning to stabilize all without burying their countries under a mudslide of third world degenerates. Who would have thought that shoving almost as many people as Russia into an island the size of California would result in shitty vermin living conditions? Overcrowding, what's that? We need to grow grow grow, more people more people even though we don't have the jobs for them!

When econocucks demand more workers they don't want to employ people, they just want to pay less for the labor they already employ which is what happens to the market when you load it with cheap labor.
>>
It will cause less jobs and higher prices though, ESPECIALLY in this day and age. Companies have already outsourced a massive amount of jobs. Automation is next up in line to replace the minimum wage jobs. Would you rather have some human who birches about their pay, or a robot that works forever and "for free"?

That's why we need Trump pham.
>>
>>71760849
