Outside of meme world, the US, or most other countries, isn't being ran by a bunch of idiots, and they won't do anything that doesn't serve their own interest and won't provide profit.
To the subject of the US AID to Israel:
1. All the money given to Israel is conditioned. Meaning that the US gets to say on what and how the money will spent. From the central military bunker that was built by US contractors ("or we will cut the aid")- giving the US free hand to spy on the entire IDF leadership, to buying only US-made weaponry and technology which serves as an indirect investment, and support of, US industry.
2. Israel is small country with small manpower pool and relatively small budget, yet it's a world leader in military, medical and other technologies. US's investment gives the US government what is often an exclusive access to said tech.
3. The US gains a grand influence over Israeli politics, including domestic ones, for rather small sum of money (the US spends more money in an hour by simply existing. Even for Israel it's not a ridiculously huge amount).
4. What is little known, is that the money is owned to Israel by contract. Said agreement was made after the Yom Kipur war, in which Israel conquered the Sinai peninsula and one shore of the Suez canal- causing the Egyptians to shut it down. The closure of the Suez canal brought massive losses to the US and Europe, so the US offered the AID money as a "bribe" to both Israel and Egypt so that they will open the canal. So even if the US won't be interested in sending AID money, they're still obligated to do so as "rent" money.
5. Just like the original idea of the money, that was rather meant to pull Egypt to US's side,and away from USSR's- and Israel being more of after thought in the matter, today the US seeks to keep Israel close to it due to it's strategic geographical and political location (as, effectively, the most powerful country in the middle east).
