I am a Cajun. 3x as many of us were exiled from Canada as there were on the trail of tears.
More men, women, and children died at sea from drowning and starvation than the ENTIRETY of the people who walked the trail of tears.
Worse than that, my grandparents where beat in school for speaking their native tongue. The government literally tried to wipe our culture from this country. Even in school today the children are being taught Spanish instead of keeping alive their ancestral language because spics are brown and we need diversity.
