You should have seen the shitstorm when they were filming it. All these old German people were running up to the actor in character and hugging him and demanding selfies and thanking him.

And then there was pic related, when a big newspaper published a picture of him alongside the lower story, "Refugee Crisis now a Matter for the Boss", referring to Merkel, but the way the paper was folded...

Very even-handed, actually. The Japanese come off just as bad, if not worse.

I mean sure, there are references to camps and wiretapping and all that kind of stuff, but for the most part it's a very neutral look at a Nazi-run world. They pushed all the scifi stuff into the next season, so it only really matters in the last episode of Season 1.

10/10 would recommend.

This movie is the opposite of red pilled, it's leftist propaganda. The end doesn't side with him, the whole point of the movie was to show how he came to power, and the point of the movie was to show these current conditions are similar to what made hitlar.

How the fuck can you call this movie red-pilled?

It was thinly veiled leftist propaganda you fucking moron, did you even watch the movie?

The last half is a satire of how someone 'like hitler' could take advantage of the current political climate to take power. It was basically a warning for the current generation of: watch out, don't let your prejudices let you elect another fascist like this guy!

If anything it's anti-demagogue and pro-progressiveness.
>>
>>71682740

(so as to warn them not to let it happen again)

It was propaganda, but we are right wing, so it appeals to us anyways.

Its like that clip from a movie or w.e about the British nationalist talking about how he represents hundreds of his family and how they were never asked about immigrants etc, and how it was supposed to make them look bad.. but it pretty much brings a tear to our eyes and we see it as a straight up great argument and speech.
>>
>>71681229
It's not pro-hitler at all.

The actor dislikes him.

Anyway. The point of the film is that while Hitler addressed actual problems, he also caused far more damage than he could ever have repaired or improved. In the process of raising up Germany's economy (by building a huge Military Industrial Complex) he created the inevitable need for war -- that's why he went to war. The following scapegoating of undesirables (infirm, old, disabled, gay, jewish, czech, polish, etc.) ended up destroying Germany. He killed tens of millions of Germans (and consequently tens of millions of Russians, and millions of other Europeans) and ultimately caused the country to come under the thumb of the U.S. for decades.

Hitler was right, but he was also wrong -- very wrong. We need a politician that isn't afraid to address the problems, but that does it without destroying what we already have.

The point of the film is that if we are not careful we will fall for another snake that speaks pretty words that take advantage of the inherent weakness we all have to this kind of rhetoric. In the words of Hitler:

>In a hundred years time, perhaps, a great man will appear who may offer them (the Germans) a chance at salvation. He'll take me as a model, use my ideas, and follow the course I have charted.
>>

And therefore the Book is far better because you get his constant thoughts the whole time. And despite the fact that the author tries to " warn " us, everybody i know and read the Book sided with Hitler.

>>
>>71682870
Exactly, but they are not similar at all only in the minds of plebs
>>
>>71682870
Yes, but the movie doesn't end with any sort of condemnation of that idea. It just sort of points to the current conditions being ripe for a Hitler and then just kind of winks at the viewer.

Leftists will see it as a warning, the redpilled will see it as a red pill. But overall, I think what this movie does most is normalize the idea of Hitler. He's never portrayed as actively evil, instead he's a relatable figure. And that's why I think the filmmakers might not exactly have been Antifa.

I grabbed half of it yesterday and it was very hard to watch the first bit, just full of propaganda making him look stupid.

Walking into posts, falling down on newspaper stands fainting, getting pepper sprayed by women etc.

It has some funny parts, I wouldnt suggest it to people who might fall for it though.

The Fuhrer also has brown eyes.

Jews have mixed feelings about it because it appears to be real in the reactions people are giving, it blurs faces, one fat guy comes up and rages at him for painting peoples pictures in a public square, saying the public shouldnt tolerate him etc.

He goes around and a lot of people complain about immigrants etc, I cant figure it out, maybe they are trying to tie those complaints to the goofy Hitler presented and then make it mentally seem as if they are as silly as Hitler in the movie.

Its designed to fuck the right over, I guess if you are one of us, you can only sympathize with those parts.

He tries to dryclean his uniform and the first guy refuses to do his boxers, and hes extremely smelly and everyones plugging their noses.

Hes forced to go to a muslim hijab wearing woman, who tries to refuse him but then accepts (because muslims are so nice)

He cant walk around in his undershirt with no shorts on, so he dresses up in some goofy shirt and pants.. which was kinda funny, but still, the whole thing degrading him to a level where he has to beg a muslim woman to wash his boxers. Its intentional.

>About to ruin a bunch more parts if you actually plan on watching it.

He goes around with a guy who has a jewish name as his sidekick, they go to one place and hes talking about how if you mix a purebread dog it will never produce another one, and then they go to another dog farm or something and the jew is trying to get the owner to lend them a dog, because the fuhrer loves animals and they flock to him hes saying.

Meanwhile in the background a little dog is attacking him and hanging off his clothes, so he kicks it off and then shoots it with his gun.

Evil fuhrer kills little dogs.

Then he brings the dead dog with him into the van, and they have a discussion about how "nigga" isnt an insult anymore, the fuhrer says you must take me for an idiot, and then when he is explained further into understanding, he grabs the dead dog and puts it in the jews face going "WAZZUP MUH NIGGA?"

"come on man, its just a dead dog"

Hitler would not be pleased.

I laughed at the several references to the media, and Goebbels rolling in his grave, or "thankfully Goebbels didnt have to see this" - the TV being so braindead and empty etc.

At one point he says its time like this he misses his SS when the jew brings him a pink truck to drive around in.

Green zone, help them in their own country instead of ruining ours. Also not our duty, we do it because were better than they are as people and have compassion.

Having it forced on society is something else entirely. Not deporting criminals, giving rapists community service etc.. people in government should be getting killed for letting that happen, its treason and nothing less.

Loyalty to a foreign country while in government is treason, and death should be the punishment.

The moral of the movie is that Hitler lives within all of us and will eventually come back. Not by his own will, but because we want him back.

A bluepilled sheep will see this message as a warning that we should keep our inner Hitler in check, to avoid repeating the past.

A redpilled individual will instead rejoice at the idea that soon all the malcontent caused by cultural marxism, forced multiculturalism and invasion by uneducated foreign hordes will pave the way for the fourth reich.

I enjoyed the movie and was pleasantly surprised at what the movie sort of left you with. By the way, I am a "National Socialist", but I do not buy into the whole Hitler cult.

The Canadian in this thread said that Hitler was portrayed silly. If anything, in the movie, this humanized Hitler. Rather than seeing Hitler as this stoic statue of a man, we see him with a little silliness as we see him in some of the home videos taken of the real Hitler.

It is obvious from the film, however, that they are trying to take the image of Hitler and associate it with modern right-wing politics. Not effectively, though, as he actually berates right-wingers on several occasions as well as Neo-Nazis. He rails about things that German people actually identify with, like why television is so stupid. They talked to many actual Germans, many of whom were supportive of him and old people especially.

After the movie, I was left with a pretty good feeling. I went in thinking it was going to be straight propaganda. After it was over, I thought that the movie sort of humanized Hitler and showed that although people associate his demeanor with a bad level of seriousness, there is a sad lack of seriousness in modern politics. I think this is good, because at a base level, the reason why people will accept some of the things they do is because they sound nice and they don't think that they will personally be affected by them.

Was it red pilled really? It seemed it was trying to lambaste non-bluepill people by juxtaposing them with Hitler, which is attempting to say that those against certain policies are akin to the nazis and therfore should be fought against and ridiculed as backwards.

Unfortunately for the film makers, it doesn't come off that way, rather it personifies Hitler as a real human and a leader as opposed to the usual 1-dimensional portrayal of Hitler as evil manifest. Which gives the impression that a return of Hitler would be a force for good, fighting against moral and social decay, and building a strong nation, all things that the "progressive" viewer is supposed to find distasteful.

The ending is also great. As hitler drives around berlin, the film makers clearly wanted to suggest that "evil" right wing sentiment was on the rise and that Hitler was an evil that could return. But it accidentally sides with Hitler making it seem like a new Leader is required to save the socially decaying Germany.

Overall it's meant to be an edgy bluepill film that accidentally dispenses a healthy redpill.

It's not that simpleminded. But it is certainly not epic red pilled pro Hitler, that's for sure.

Hitler is not portrayed as a monster and he is a likable character. This way, viewers are forced to consider why Hitler came to power in the first place.--why it was possible. Regarding the film, the producers asked the film makers to put in more footage of everyday people reacting negatively to Hitler during the candid Borat-esque segments and they said they simply couldn't because only like 2 out of 300 people reacted negatively.

In my view, the West is Imperialistic and is sucking out blood and resources out of less fortunate countries. So in a way, the system is guilty - but not white people or whatever.

For me, stopping Imperialism and "Globalism" (which is what causes immigration to a large degree) have a higher priority than stopping immigration. Because as long as the West funds terrorists and ruin nations in other parts of the world for profit, there will be people fleeing. It is not the immigrants fault, but the system. Mass-immigration is bad on so many aspects, and I have no clue why modern "Left-wingers" support it. It is ideologically contradicting. Capitalists should support immigration, because it weakens and divides the working class and makes the native working class have to compete against foreigners without a class consciousness.

>Loyalty to a foreign country while in government is treason, and death should be the punishment.

The former Norwegian prime minister Jens Stoltenberg, now head of NATO, should in my view be punished for leading Norway into bombing Libya. With all of the ones voting in favour of the bombings. I do not think being deluded sheep "humanitarian leftist" deserves punishment.

I don't think so, and I am not saying that the Norwegian film industry was ever good, but I see no point in trying to make everything Hollywood-style. If I want Hollywood films, I watch movies from Hollywood, as they are better than Norwegian "Hollywood-like" films.
>>
>>71682655
He didnt act like an idiot. i think you were trying to read too much into the movie, it does has warning about how quickly shit can be escalated, but is not hitler the problem, the final message is that: HITLER was a leader of the people, people chosed him, he wasnt a tyrant or the devil, he was just a guy saying what people wanted, nothing more, nothing less. And that is the interesting part, you don't even need to support hitler to see that it's an argument that goes both ways, against immigration and racism, against totalitarism and democracy, it says that If bad shit happens the people that wanted that bad shit and the people that let it happen is to blame.
>>
>>71685926
Oh come on.

Anyway, the book is much funnier than the movie but I enjoyed both.

I kind of wish there were more of the real people coming up to hitler portions. It was quite surreal to see everyday German people casually saluting (since it is a criminal offense in Germany) and smiling at hitler.

It's endearing and shows that mamma mutti's plan of creating an arab islamic underclass to stem germany's population problems will fail. Perhaps soon Germany's whites will begin to actually have kids again.

I just watched this last night.

To me it's a very strange film.

First of all, it tries to turn Hitler into Borat for half the movie. The producers have taken the idea of using shock value to make Hitler palatable to a general audience.

Then it uses Hitler to show how times have changed and more people are willing to take the idea of someone impersonating Hitler less seriously, and they even have fun with the idea now.

The part that was tough for me to decipher was whether the director was using Hitler to show Merkel and her party are bad or out of touch, if they were using Hitler as a strawman to make Merkel seem better than she is.

The second half of the movie is where the humor takes a backseat to the drama revolving around the rise to power of Hitler. It attempts to draw a comparison and illustrate exactly how Hitler rose to power from 1933 and onwards.

Oliver Masucci may not be the perfect Hitler, but I personally think he did a damn good job of not just portraying Hitler as a complete bumbling buffoon. Sure they make a joke out of him at first but that's only to get audiences to lower their guard for what comes later in the film. When Hitler gives his interviews and starts to show off his charisma is when Masucci really shines in the film.

Ultimately, either through laziness or purposeful ambiguity, the director has left the film's ultimate message to be left up to the audience.
Is what Hitler says ultimately true and full of candor? Or do we simply fall for charismatic people who have unrealistic and insane ambitions?

Those are just my personal thoughts on the film, please feel free to tell me I have AIDS.

I really enjoyed the movie and thought it made Hitler look like a really good guy. I didn't mind him shooting a dog so that was funny to me. It made the media look like money grubbing whores and suggested that the glorious Fuhrer might still be in the German people. It actually gave me hope.

I love the scene in the film when Hitler visits the National Socialist party. Even though it was one of the scripted parts, it illustrated how weak and uncharismatic modern day Germans are compared to what Hitler was.

Petry is great, but a lot of what she says seems to be carried by the sentiment behind it, and not by Perty's personality.

I'm an Americlap though, so what the fuck do I know about current German politics.

Watching it clearly seems to hint that all the makings for another Hitler are there, that's why. The movie is meant to serve as a warning, just look at the awkward scenes where he talks with NPD and AfD, it's obviously about revealing that a "literal Hitler" could easily "work with this," as in take advantage of the situation and seize the reins once more if Germany isn't careful.

>it is pushing the Fascism is just around the corner meme
But understandably, that plays to both audiences who think this is horrific and must be stopped and audiences that want it to be true.

The reactions of the everyday people in support of Hitler are meant to shock those on the left, but they also work on a completely unintended level to embolden those on the right by showing how common their views really are. It's pretty hilarious that they've inadvertently made a pro-Hitler film while trying to do the opposite.
>>
>>71689251
it has an air of anti hitler, that way it could actually be produced and distributed

No seriously, just look at all the moments where he asks people if they would swear allegiance/loyalty to him and they ask to "turn off the camera." (Particularly when he visits the NPD Headquarters) Do you really think it's so they can give him a big fat no?

It's a warning more than anything else.

This movie was fucking amazing. It had that lefty spin on it, but whatever it was intended to do, it humanized Hitler, made him a normal person, and aside from one or two cartoonish moments (Hitler shooting a dog is literal nonsense, the guy was like a vegan animal lover) he never actually said or did anything wrong.

This is a monumental time to be alive. We have basically reached the point where even liberal smear flicks about Hitler basically acknowledge that he was right, and that he represents what people actually want and believe in the modern day.

I just got done watching it and it's just anti right wing propaganda. They turned Hitler into a Sacha Baron Cohen character throughout the whole film.
Here's what I got out of it.
>Hitler would never be elected today, most people would laugh at him
>People like Hitler are dangerous, they may provide short term prosperity, but eventually, they cause disaster. The people were responsible for Hitler, they elected him.
So they slap the Hitler slippery slope on people like Geert and Marine Le Penn.

Sure, there were people were willing to actually follow Hitler if he were to appear in our time, but the movie depicted them as either clowns, or vulnerable people frustrated with the government. They wanted the audience to pity the former.

Men like Hitler may come off as good leaders, but don't fall for them, Hitler did more harm than good. Don't repeat history is what the movie said multiple times.

I can't believe this thread, Is pol this stupid?
This movie is literally Blue Pill the Movie.
>He's back
A metaphor that fascism is coming back to society
>he becomes a comedian
Basically the old strawman that a politician that is controversial and entertaining could simply fool everyone with jokes and become the next hitler
>people get mad when he kills a dog
basically a punch in the face of everyone because a dead dog is more disgusting than fascist ideas
>lot's of interview with real people with right wing point of views
society is literally packed with these fascist leaning people waiting to follow the next hitler
>people making legitimate remarks on the negatives of mass immigration
they mix stupid nutjobs with those so they also sound like nazis for being worried about mass-immigration
>old lady saying everyone also laughed at the beginning
watch out, if you make fun with nazism, hitler and ww2 you are planting the seeds of nazism
>the cops don't arrest the tv director saying they actually don't care
Representing cops as nazist supporters
>hitler driving by and everyone waving to him because they know he is an actor, hitler drawing taking selfies, hitler making people's portraits
Hey look people don't get angry when seeing someone dressed as Hitler, so it means society is ok with nazism
>>
>>71701702
>Hilter tells his friend he didn't fool anyone, they actually elected him legitimately
Basically the message is: if you are German you have to be a cuck forever and still feel guilty until this day because your grandparents elected hitler
>anti- mass immigration scenes in the end, Hitler saying he has a lot of material to work with
The same strawmen argument if you are against mass-immigration you are a nazi
>the blond director saying (almost ironically): we had 70 years to digest what happened, kids are tired of learning about the third reich
Again, you have to be forever worried and guilty about what happened, otherwise nazism is coming back
>the fake NPD president scene
In the whole movie they appear to interview real people with fringe opinions, than the mix a obvious scripted scene with what was supposed to be the president of NPD making him look like a pathetic idiot
>Germany soccer team supporting shouth GO GERMANY, lots of flags and patriotic gear around Hitler
If your are patriotic and love your country you are a Nazi, you can't be patriotic.

This film is pure liberal propaganda shit. The plot is basically, if you don't have liberal views, if you are patriotic, if you don't get angry with an actor dressed as hilter, you are a Nazi enabler.
