Western white countries are the only ones who made slavery illegal in their countries. Slavery is still all over the darker-skinned parts of the world and perfectly legal in some.
Only 1.8% of any Americans owned slaves at its peak. The rich 1.8%. But 3000 of them were black.
The man who fought to own the first slave in the American colonies, was black. He brought his black slave with him, and sued the young America to be able to keep his property when his property wanted to leave him.
1-3 million of white Europeans were held as slaves in Africa by the caliphates up until the mid 1800s. Europe got so pissed off that it went to war with Africa twice to stop its slave trade and then finally had to colonialize it to make it behave and stop enslaving white europeans.
300,000 white americans died to end slavery in the US.

How do I feel about Slavery? Was it bad? Yeah, any kind of slavery is bad. Does it physically, emotionally, mentally effect me today? Absolutely not. I never owned slaves, never knew anyone who did, and family never owned them.
