Men and women are sexually dimorphic and this probably extends to the brain as the same patterns of gendered behaviour exist in every relevant civilisation ever, so the premise that men and women are "equal" is inherently flawed.
It exploits the natural tendency of men to treat women as victims. Women are far more valuable than men in sexual reproduction, as one man can potentially impregnate all the women he meets in 9 months, but each woman can bear only one pregnancy. Thus, the humans who protected the women the best survived most successfully. In feminism, women are victims of everything, and no matter how many sources of victimisation are removed, they will always find more.
Related to the previous point, "the personal is the political". There's an intentional ambiguity between what is a problem of the 'system' a person is in and what is a personal problem. Thus, women can be convinced that any problem they perceive is targeted sexism and nothing to do with them as an individual. Thus, the problems will never be solved because human nature is to look for problems, and the fewer the number of actual problems, the more fantastical the perceptions become.
After finally feeling guilty about appropriating the status of victim for themselves, they decided to extend feminism into race, sexuality, disability, and the politics of absolutely everything, with not partaking in this seen as shameful. The result is a completely incomprehensible mess that requires holding together with untestable, undisprovable ideas like 'patriarchy', 'privilege', and 'microaggressions'. They're at the point of conspiratards weaving elaborate webs of confirmation bias to prove their theories true in any possible conditions.
It works against the interests of the groups they claim to help, and against the interests of anyone who isn't personally profiting from these ideas.
Finally, they want to ban pretty much anything people can enjoy. Especially anything that contains superior girls.
