Sad, but that isnt enough reason to allow them to permantly relocate to my country. There are billions who suffer just as equally and we wouldn't be able to support them all. So, rationally, how do you decide who to bring in?
1. Obviously, nobody who wants to kill us, so we'll have to make sure they aren't criminals or terrorists
2. Make sure they are culturally compatible. No reason to make life worse for my fellow citizens by having someone who may have different expectations that aren't acceptable to our country.
3. Well, i don't want to make this a burden on my country and economy, so only those who have skills that are needed should enter.
I think if you do that and just help those over there where we have an economic or political interest, that would provide rhe most benefit for everyone.

I support the West helping genuine refugees. However, I disagree with EU leaders that the best way to help them is to import them into Europe. The EU's money and resources would be more effective by sending aid to the region. If the goal is to minimize refugee suffering and maximize the number of refugees helped, the sending aid is far superior to importing people.

The 'legitimate' refugees from Syria are in a neighbouring country, for example turkey and stay there. That's fine and dandy. It's the 'illegitimate' 'refugees' setting immediate course to welfare paradise that must be told to get fucked immediately. Thanks to Merkel's open inivitation to the entire world, we have millions following their example enroute already with a potential of not several million but one or even two billion people. Women and Children are harmless and they were indoctrinated to be docile single everytime. I am confident that they can easily learn the ways of the civilized people and will show their gratitude once they grow big enough.
