Being poor has a lot to do with personal responsibility, many times people who are poor are because they are not very good at what they do, hence they should not be rewarded for it either. They should instead strive to improve themselves and THEN be rewarded for that.
The illusion leftists have is everyone who is not well off is not because of them but because of unfairness, when that's not the case for a lot of these people.
But either way, the moment you stop rewarding people for doing good, and only reward people who's basically done shit.
On a sidenote why is it these leftist arguments sound like a diamond to themselves, but bullshit to everyone else, is it because they have no cognitive reasoning or is it because they're just trying to manipulate things through that has no good argument for being done.. I think a lot of it is the consequence of "critical theory' becoming so popular in academia. These people go out of their way to critique and challenge everything. Everything becomes a political or social justice issue, and nothing is above reproach. If an idea exists and has been embraced by white society, then it must be challenged and deconstructed, for it is inherently flawed and oppressive, in SOME way.
Even something as axiomatic as rewarding kids for hard work is not safe from their intellectual masturbation, apparently.

I am a university student. Certainly no poor.
I received a merit scholarship, and it is my only financial aid money. My parents are not helping me with college, because they can't, but the government sees their income and assumed they can pay for my schooling.
I am receiving money due to merit, and it's not even close to enough, after 1.5 years here, I am already 15K in debt, despite working full time in the summers and part time during the year.
Every college student that isn't in the upper class needs assistance with money. The middle class doesn't receive assistance, but the lower class does.
I can't fucking take it anymore.
