Vietnam has very good relations with the US and really poor relations with China. Vietnamese girls are basically a poor mans Chinese, so, they are better than other SE Asians but worse in comparison to Chinks, Japs, and Gooks. They are more than happy to be with a Western man because, duh, they want to live in a first world country and not have to worry about working in a sweatshop to survive.
Vietnamese people are very friendly in general and always welcoming in my personal experience. Just showing an interest in Vietnam in some capacity is a good start.
Their food is also god-tier in terms of Asian food.
