Why not let him make the decision later? Once you do this, it's irreversible. The damage is done and if later on down the road your son wishes he was uncircumcised, then it's on you.
Also, why is some woman who doesn't even exist in your son's life yet more important than your son? Why is what she might want justification for permanently affecting your son? If his wife says later on that she would prefer that he be circumcised and it's so important to her that he feels it's the right thing to do (which is absurd to even think about) then let him get it done then.
