There is no force on the planet more powerful than a carrier strike group.

Discuss.

this was true back when military action was allowed.
Nowadays if your bomb dropped from 20,000 feet gives a civilian a bruise you're a war criminal.

To think that something that small could create such a massive reaction is just strange to think about.

Got a missile boat in mind that carried more AShM than a carrier group, has better detection capabilitt, better evasion and jamming, or better active missile defenses?
>>
>>71587321

One of these gets near the group and it's game over.

Yea this board has made me question everything I don't have concrete proof. As far as nukes I think nuclear reactors are real so we can create and control fission. What I wonder about is the true damage that they can do. No one has ever fired one in anger and a MAD world could just be everyone bluffing

thats a MIRV ICBM, while a Tsar bomba - single warhead/bomb with only means of delivery by a bomber plains

while Topol-M (on pic) have a single usually single warhead of 800 KT, russians start to produce MIRV version of it with decoy warheads

Tsar bomba had maxium capacity of 100 MT, while during test payload was reduced to 50-56 MT

Jet fuel tanker with a set of built in docking ports of different form factors so it can be deployed without needing anything else. I bet you thought it was something evil. Stupid Russian.

legit question
follow up question:
if not, could a group of subs take them?

We have those too

You can't invade an enemy country with a missile. Missiles can't take and hold territory or stand around on street corners policing.

Im way late to the thread, but this one is easy.

A single nuke launching sub fed by satellite data to stay out of detection range.

Subs sink carriers in simulations constantly. Even Swedes downed yank carrier np some years ago. Carriers are made for harassing stone age desert niggers.

>>71587321
>the patriarchy.
>>
>>71591056
Typically a los angeles or seawolf will accompany a carrier group, but composition is not rigid. I don't think and SSN ever do. As for the second question, there are few places in the world with more ASM capabability.
>>
>>71591056
Yes. The carrier group has submarines as part of her escorts.

Also the carrier's escorts are there pretty much precisely for the purpose of defending her against subs or other threats.

They only time they sail as close together as seen in OP's pic is for photos for "Murrica, Fuck yeah!" propaganda and recruitment purposes. Generally they're spread out in much more defensible positions.
>>
>>71587321

Technically Boomers are more powerful but we never get to use nukes.
>>
>>71587321
*if it has a screening force of 2-4 submarines with it

Fixed that for you
>>
>>71590324

That's obviously not the Tsar Bomba.

The Tsar Bomba was an air dropped thermonuclear bomb. That's a TEL launched Topol-M, it has an 800kt warhead (the Tsar Bomba had a yield of 50megatons, so 60 times more powerful.. and it had a theoretical yield (if they used a Uranium Tamper rather than an inert Tamper) of 100megatons.)
>>
>>71587321

There is something even more powerful than a carrier strike group.

Nuclear submarine strike group. Unlimited range, extremely hard to detect, can launch nukes without needing to get aircraft off. This is why it doesn't matter that Russia is only down to one barely functioning carrier.
>>
>>71592965

Except once a nuke is launched it means the end of humanity, America can push your shit in slowly and deliberately with the carrier strike groups.
>>
>>71593141

The question was about what is the most powerful, not what is the most powerful in practice. Yes, carrier strike group is the most powerful in practice. It can't defeat an ICBM strike though, and it has very little chance against preventing a submarine group launch.
>>
>>71590324
I have lived in a area in Russia where they have those. They drive around the town (maybe 30,000 residents max) in like 2 car convoys.

every carrier strike group has submarines. how many are attack subs, how many have cruise missles, and how far behind the boomers trail i can't tell you.

but i can tell you that your missile boat is outclassed by a missile sub every god damned time.

also your canadian. you faggots cant do shit. you like to say how bad ass your SF are, but they literally patrolled KAF perimeter when i was there. and that is the type of job our regular air force security personel do.
>>
>>71591056
>Do they have submarines come along?
Attack subs sometimes. No ballistic missile submarines since you want those to be stealthy and hidden.

A lot of people still doubt if having attack subs as part of a surface fleet is a good idea. Mainly because every time it's been tried in actual combat, the surface fleet thought the subs were enemy subs and engaged them.
