It's arid, hot and lacks deep rivers/vast lakes/oceans. The majority of blacks are awful around water and most certainly water sports. Europeans evolved in a completely alien environment to the African plains ergo have other talents. As the only white person who was an all-american at his division 1 school, I have figured its two things.
1st, black live and breath sports. When they were growing up, that was what they all focused on being. Same with their parents. No one gave a fuck if Tyrone was going to class. Doing sports was much more important to them. Since almost all of my teammates came from broken families, those teams acted as their support system and parents.
Secondly, this is all they are good at. We had a majority of the black kids of the team not even bothering going to class. They were not even looking for jobs. To them, college was all about the sport. That is why they went there, not to learn. So, when I had an exam to take during a practice, I would miss the practice. They would just skip the exam. This also meant they focused a lot more on their sport. They were constantly practicing and going over film to get better because they did nothing else.
I am not saying that whites would be better than blacks at sports if they did this or that they would be the same skill even. I still think genetically blacks are better than whites in athletics on the whole. However, you would see much less disparity
