There's a few types of dego in the NE US. There seem to be a few very smart ones and a whole lot of sub-100 IQ ones. Generally, the smart ones are fair skinned and affable. I've met some with extreme business acumen, founding and running multiple successful companies.
I always supposed their inclinations had to do with what tpe of immigrant they descended from. Some immigrants came to start family businesses, others came and worked in the mills and barely survived.

"Italy" isn't a single nation. You can't lump a Sicilian with a Tyrolean as though they are the same; they aren't.
