How can a country have so little respect for the leaders who shaped it?
>>
>>71576131
That is a specious argument. There are 5 presidents currently on our standard currency (counting the $2), and Ben Franklin. To claim that putting someone on currency is snubbing people who are not on it is flatly specious.

You actually mean "within a context that can be created by cherry picking particular stories."

This year alone, dozens of schools, libraries, museums and monuments will be dedicated to Jackson, across the USA. Probably hundreds. He is getting replaced on a bill--not whited out of text books.

Does he, now?

Guess what? The first $20 issued featured Lady Liberty. Then an eagle. Then pochohantas. Then Hamilton & Lady Victory. Then Stephen Decatur. Then Garfield. Then Daniel Manning. Then Hugh McCulloch. Then Washington. Then Jackson.

Women have been on the bill 3 times.
Non-white women once.

These have never been static. The characters rotate out.

>To claim that putting someone on currency is snubbing people who are not on it is flatly specious.

The rejection and erasure of a figure from the currency is 'not a snub'.

This is absurd. All lands are fairly susceptible to invasion. The US was not a united Indian nation. There were several tribes that were as every bit political, militaristic, and vengeful as any other polity that has ever existed. Yes, genocide is horrible, but they were mutually responsible for the hostilities.

I dont quite know what to think. On one hand, I dont really want to see her face on one of the most common notes of currency, just because it's weird. I just use tens I guess, when I actually use cash at all.

On the other hand, they could have picked some nut like MLK or some other malcontent; at least they stuck with someone less controversial.

Most of all, its hard to feel one way or the other, since they are doing Jackson a huge favor. He would have absolutely despised being a face for the institution he hated the most and spent his career fighting to free us from, central banks.

To have him on the 20 was like pissing on his grave.

Conversely, we have had way too many changes to our money these last two decades. Its a tool to destroy national identity, perhaps to prepare us for the Amero.

Its hard not to notice that symbols of independence, like the Confederate flag, and now a strong nationalist president, are slowly being effaced so the people lose symbols of their own sovereign worth and dismiss any notions that the government is an external mortal part of life, not an inherent permanent necessity.

Patriotism in the US has become warped and very similar to Chinese patriotism, where the government that murdered and destroyed the old icons of national pride then stand on their corpses and pretend to celebrate the very things they destroyed, and perpetuate their legitimacy by invoking memories of the very system and founders they betrayed.

Apparently a lot of us agree on that. Plus, Tubbman isn't controversial. Whatever one's view on race, its hard to say she did anything wrong. It was an age where thinking negros had a legitimate issue as a class. I'm completely /pol/ on race issues during the 20th and 21st century, and detest revisionism of the 19th century. But its not like I would deny that negros prior to that were getting screwed and stuck in a horrible system.

Just because I dislike how emancipation was handled doesn't mean I support slavery. We've been paying for that muff up for two centuries now. Sadly, it was identity politics from the very beginning and only got worse in the 20th century.

The premise to end slavery was right, but executed poorly and for all the wrong reasons.

I wonder sometimes what its like to have to be a black kid with some liberal teacher telling them a bunch of white people went to war because they cared about negros.

I'd call bullshit too. It insults anyone's intelligence.

Well, I dont have a problem with a negro on the money if they have legitimate character, it is what it is and the age we live in. It seems fair enough; like I said, at least it wasnt some egomaniac radical.

I'd much sooner have seen her on money 40 years ago than Obama 40 years from now. That would truly be disturbing, and our grandkids will probably be stuck with it at some point.

>>71582207

True, its hard to get government to do anything for the right reasons. But as I say, its the world we live in. As much as it is pandering to put her on, it would be just as petty to deny the blacks any representation at all on our national iconography just over contemporary racial disagreements.

I myself dislike changes to institutions of national identity. Even as a non-theist, I would hate to ever see the government even think of removing our good and decent Christian roots by toying with the notion of removing god from our currency. We dont have many historical ties left for them to pervert, so I am grateful they are leaving that alone.

There is some environment context to it. Even the Congo has a space program, which I think is admirable, and a few others besides.

I've worked with African migrants. They have good and bad nations. Somalia is rot, but places with strong national identity have decent cultured people.

If you've heard the rumor that African immigrants loathe American negros, I assure you its true. Africans have few internal domestic social programs out of conservative character, so civilized regions have little patience for do-nothings and cultural louts.

One of the saddest stories I tell is of a Congolese migrant who worked to save money to come to America, who had an odd habit of always wearing a suit to impress.

Because he was in a poor part of the city, he was always getting mugged. I didnt know what to say when he told me one day "Now I know, do not trust blacks in America".

The last I saw him he was sitting alone in the park looking forlorn. He seemed to be reconciling that his appearance as a middle aged black man would work against him, though he did nothing wrong, after so long a journey from home to make a better life.

This is actually pretty well writ out.
But, you cannot possibly not make fun of Trump, he's pretty asinine at times and Confederacy was a break away anti federalist state, the fact that they haven't banned people from Dixie car stickers and the like is enough.

I think what your getting at is that American ideals are getting washed out by political correctness or relabled into an absurd deathknell of stupidity. Case in point, "what you can do for your country" would be too selfish, you must be great like Oprah who feed 50,000 mouths in W Africa or how "independent" is associated to feminists and gays in their movement to 'outshine' from society. Also, American national identity is pretty cucked right now with their conscious embrasure of new age 'multiculturalism', affirmative action, Donald Trump being the best man to represent close to 400 million people.

I moved in to US when I was 10 for opportunities because I thought my country was hopeless with corruption and under regulation (China). I learned about the propaganda how great democracy is until I learned about the electoral college (2000 and HS AP Gov) plus www taught me Sweden and Belgian Caliphat. Now in 2016 we are seeing further of that under regulation since Clinton years.

Now I don't know, probably save 400k and move to somewhere quiet like Japan.

>Deface every bill

>Try to spend defaced Tubman bill
>Get attacked by angry dindus regardless if you defaced it or not

Brilliant plan
>>
>>71583904

No, but its manufactured now for political identity wrangling. I dont mind protest when there is an actual issue. I just mean demoralizing anyone when there is no risk of confrontation with ones target is cowardly.

I am going to the convention this July. I will be faced with a lot of angry people. If people actually have a legitimate argument, I will engage them. But I am not going to attack people for no reason, call them stupid or generally dignify any 'kill whitey' types.

We are seeing more black conservatives, and I welcome them. People say conservatism is an ideology, but I see it as just the default values of pro-social behavior, and thats all you can ask of anyone.

The black conservative faces extra social challenges, and I respect it.

True. It makes one ask what is really happening: is our identity actually changing or is this all just a product of the inevitable fate of generations of growing ignorance.

In that post, he yet to remark "putting someone on currency is snubbing people who are not on it is flatly specious."
What he meant was Andrew Jackson, a president, and an accomplished historical figure was due to be replaced by a historical symbol without much due to her credit. If anything, it does show at least nominal support to the idea that the Mint shows less of A. Jackson than of H. Tubman. I think you misunderstood the point.

There's a bit of a peculiar irony in all this, sort of like how television is becoming outdated as a media distribution tool while at the same time the faces of television become less and less white. It begins an inward spiraling illusion to the people using it.

By that I mean that actually using cash has been becoming démodé for a while now. If one is living above even the most meager means, the use of cash is less common. Even homeless have prepaid cash cards.

Cash itself is slowly being reduced to little more than a movie prop. This change comes in the era when an overwhelming majority of the population will notice it the least.

This is almost the closing act for American cash. Its hard not to notice that multiculturalism is intersecting with the national iconography of currency at the same time it is worth the least it ever has been.

Picking now to put a negro on our currency is an unintentional insult in itself.

Here is the 20 I grew up with. I can still remember silver certificates, the Susan B Anthony quarter and how everyone rolled their eyes at the 2 dollar bill. Silver dollars were just odd, and fifty cent pieces.

I left the US for a while and when I came back, a cabbie gave me the new currency then. It took me a while and some leaps of faith to believe I wasnt being swindled with funny money. The only thing that convinced me was that a counterfeiter couldn't possibly have messed it up that badly.

I am still getting used to blue 100s.

I've handled the us banknotes of 90s (although i've nothing to do with usa) and they were ok i guess. When i saw that the newest ones have the coloring of fucking monopoly counterparts i cringed as hell.

That been said, you should be really weary about the "abolishment" of banknotes. You see, when currency is now completely digitised, who guarantees the transparency and how? It is a completely fucked up thing to let be enforced upon you guys.

My reasoning about defacing the new 20 bill though is not of bitterness, but a lulzy one. We first saw a few months ago liberals start to demand a negress to be put in the 20 dollar bill. Was it to congratulate an achievment of nogs? Bollocks, they haven't achieved anything ever.

Their reasoning was "teehee we will trigger those racists w/ a negress on the 20 bill". So you can imagine the irony of their butthurt every time they receive a 20 bill that ends up triggering them instead

ps: i checked your dubs, have a rare pepe

I know what you mean, its hard to tell when the libs are trolling us because so often they actually believe what they are selling.

I think it is fair to say that Tubbman did participate in legitimately trying to help mistreated brethren; we would do the same for ourselves and on pure humanitarian grounds, no one can say that her opposition had any moral credit to perpetuate the conditions her brethren were kept in, no matter how grand or meager. Bondage is bondage, and the issue had to resolve itself one way or the other. The invasion of the South was immoral, and the emancipation was cheap politics and very poorly executed. But an old negro woman acting in compassion of her own is hardly assailable.

But your bigger point about cash and digital currency is even more important, and I agree.

I keep meaning to get some combibars, just in case it all blows up.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0srx-9eayI

They also come in silver, of course. American gold coins are good for travel because they are only counted by their mint value, not their spot value. So you can carry a lot more value than the technical amount of cash you are carrying across borders, which is typically limited to 10k cash.

Diamonds are a pain in the ass, of course; it typically takes ten years to recover the purchase price, they have to be investment grade and even then their fungibility is dubious at best. Advances in carbon technology further challenge their future value.

If you can accept that, I guess they are a good way to store value over a very long time in a miniscule space.

Checked your dubs again

I just saw the clip of the combibar. I was under the impression that gold wasn't regarded as legal tender in the US. Was i wrong? Regardless, it's a cool method of diversifying assets while keeping them portable.

Concerning libs, i'm certain that this hole social justice crusade started from sjw blogs and online petitions. I've never thought that it would actually get traction, but alas, the kikes have decided otherwise.

I am not very fond of changes, i have a traditionalist mindset, and in any country in the world, currency always commemorates Founding figures, Heroes, and generaly people of exceptional service to said nation and most of the time at least 2 centuries dead. To get my point of view, if i was american, i would disagree in the case of removing Jackson for the sake of Reagan.

About diversifying further, i'd buy metals only, precious stones are very questionable if you aren't a jeweler. Heck, i'd sooner buy fuckloads of copper, melt it and mold statues to have them hanging around my house than to invest in diamonds etc.
>>
Oh for fuck sakes. Why do you even have these kind of people who do not respect your founding fathers?

Given the civilian discontent this would produce, they will probably pass a law making it illegal to present them, and require anyone with them to redeem them at banks for exchange.

Plus, its a trap. It is probably meant by some to stir animus. Remember when the trannies wanted to be in the military?

They were expecting a nice long battle with the DOD where they could spend a decade being outraged, whoring their laments in front of news cameras and crying victimhood for another generation.

But the DOD spotted the trap. They stopped to consider how many men in dresses would actually want to join an organization that treats women like men and where they would have to be surrounded by actual straight women all day.

So the military called their bluff and said 'come on in'.

And that was the very fast mortal blow to that whole front on another culture war, and the entire 9 trannies in the US that wanted to be martyrs for a lifetime were robbed of their victim platform and denied any chance to become heros for a cause no one cares about.

Its sort of the same thing here. Governments mixing hostile populations and sentiments to distract the citizenry from actually keeping tabs on a government plundering the treasury and using law to commit strong arm robbery of its citizens through tax law is common.

This feels like a similar trap, sort of like the new 'bathroom' wars warming up.

Its a bit like gay rights generally, where there is only a conflict if you fall for taking it too seriously to begin with.

I'd just side-step it and use tens and fives if you use cash at all. I'd bet that soon after we will hear odd reports on how the treasury cant keep enough tens in circulation while gluts of 20s are forming at the bank....
>>
>>71589603

... And again, the mechanics of this are a bit diabolical, to do this when our money is worth the least and our national cultural identity is strained to the breaking point. This is the sort of exact thing you would do if you were deliberately trying to break down a national identity so you could rebuild it into something else.
