https://ca.finance.yahoo.com/news/netflix-enrages-canada-actually-following-213700221.html

>Tensions are rising between Netflix and the people of Canada once again this week as more border-hopping subscribers find out first-hand that the streaming service wasn't bluffing about that whole "VPN crackdown" thing.

>At press time, Canadian Netflix users could access approximately 4,000 movies and shows, while nearly 7,000 titles were available to subscribers in the U.S.

>Adding insult to injury, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings blew off concerns over the VPN crackdown and how it might affect business during a live-streamed earnings call on Monday. "It's a very small but quite vocal minority," Hastings said of Netflix subscribers who use VPNs to access U.S. content from outside the country. "It's really inconsequential to us."

I love when people say "small but vocal minority". It usually means its a pretty large group that a company is just trying to downplay.

>paying to watch movies/shows

I actually paid for Netflix for a few months, but was pissed off when they randomly took down movies in my backlog (likely due to temporary licensing) and completely erased my list of movies I wanted to watch after resubscribing after a few months hiatus.

I gladly went back to pirating, even though a Netflix subscription is peanuts to me.

Just torrent your anime shows and be done with it.

This. It's not about money it's about convenience. I buy games on Steam because they're available to me easily and Valve has no history of mass deletions. Still pirate films, television and music because the paid alternatives are vastly inferior.

If you think Netflix Murica or Canada sucks, you haven't seen Netflix germoney yet. Ohh, boy.
>>
If you're gonna be such a pleb that you stream media, why would you pay for it?

alluc is free
>>
>>71552065
I can't imagine there being many people who sub to netflix that also know about VPNs
>>
>>71552065
I can confirm that this image accurately represents me

Pirated the game, later bought it and the two 'expansions' for ~$55, which is an actual reasonable price for a new game.

now guess how much there is on netflix here

but why would you even waste your time with this shit

literally not a single good western movie or tv show in the past couple years

you're welcome, literally every movie/tv show ever uploaded on the internet, streamed for free, including movies still in theater

lets destroy this evil jewish business, the most known/rich people on this planet are professional liars, not scientists

defeat the eternal jew, hit them where it hurts

it's also not illegal seeings how you aren't downloading the full file, just caching pieces that are overwrote in minutes

Oh shit, this. I download stuff but my girlfriend loves buying DVD and BR. I can't stand watching them because the 5000 previews and that little stop hand when I try to advance past them. I'll have the disc within arms reach and still prefer to download it.

Yeah I'm canceling my Netflix subscription soon and just getting shomi and pirating a bunch. It's such a bad business move on their part I don't really understand it. Just make all content available

I'm not sure who I should shit on, the jews jewing netflix out of rights as they see them as competition now or Netflix who jews everyone other than Americans.
>>
>>71552065
I don't get it. Finally they find a way to compete with pirating, by doing the same thing, essentially. And what do they do? Restrict the user. Again.

I used to have Netflix. But it's just like TV. Tons of shit is on, but there's nothing to watch. Meanwhile torrents don't discriminate. This is just like game devs who bitch about piracy, but expect you to pay full price for an unfinished, mediocre product. Bitch, if your shit game was available for €10, I'd buy it. But you're asking €40, so fuck you.

>>
Why does netflix even bother restricting their stuff to burgers? They are literealy refusing free money.
>>
>actually using netdix
>not streaming shit on the 50 free other streaming sites

lol who cares, netflix was never good.
>>
>>71554128
It's not their fault, it's to do with how complex the jews have made licencing media internationally, they have everything routed through hundreds of subsidiaries and licencing companies.
>>
>>71554128

licensing. they pay tons of money to license intellectual property from the owners of said property.

One one hand, this is exactly how they should be operating, its understandable and sane.

On the other hand, it just pushes people to piracy, as piracy is mostly a reaction to restriction and availability. They could easily remove these barriers by charging a little more to access the content across borders. You want to watch something from Canada, pay me 5 dollars extra a month. problem solved.

Do they still sell those shitty "cable boxes" that literally just stream shit from free streaming websites?

Last I heard some dude was buying the boxes from china and just putting some programs on there and automatically linked the box to streaming sites and he was making like $100 profit off each sale.

>friend tells me hes got this amazing box that lets him watch anything

The reasoning behind their policies is often
>people want to watch everything I put out

>people continue to watch and finish everything they start

98% of all media that passes me goes straight into the trash.

Steam is indeed pretty convenient, but GOG is the superior choice IMO. GOG is DRM free and while not all the games are available for it, if you have the choice between Steam and GOG I think it's better to support GOG.
