I love the Confederacy as a Southerner but Davis was a fairly weak leader. He would've been perfect if the South stayed in peace but he was horrible for war time. If you want to talk about good Southern American Presidents definitely Andrew Jackson or James K. Polk would take that excluding southern Founding Fathers. As for northern Presidents I would give it to Theodore Roosevelt easily.
