How has it proved anything? Homicide rate does not correlate with firearms ownership nor proliferation of firearms. You want proof? Look at the trends in the U.S. since 1994, especially recently, with firearm ownership rate on the rise (sales have broken records constantly for months) and the lowest violent crime rate since 1994. Furthermore, look at violent crime trends in countries like Aus and the UK when they implemented their firearms laws, the trend DOESN'T CHANGE.

UK reports their homicide differently.
If someone is found dead in the US because of a stab wounds to the chest it counts as a homicide. If someone is found dead in the UK with stab wounds to the chest and no one is charged it doesn't count as a homicide. Funny how that makes it look like there is less crime there.
