Spent a semester abroad in Nagoya and it's definitely not that hard to get laid there as a white guy.

I work in health care so I meet a lot of people from most/all social classes and ethnicities, and I can confirm what has already been said, interracial couples/marriages are actually rather few. Most are Swedish man-foreign woman in my experience. Middle Eastern or Asian is probably most common foreign gf/wife ethnicity.
I also think adoption has contributed to interracial relationships not being seen as something very special/odd. Where I grew up, the only "foreign" kids were adopted from countries such as China, Sri Lanka and India, and we never treated them differently, as the exterior was the only thing that set them apart. I was 16 when I first met non-European immigrants.

It is common for Americans to espouse the belief that America is the best country in the world. I do think however that most people are aware that this is subjective, and we assume that people in most other countries think that their respective country is the best in the world. It's just something we say to bond with each other as Americans.
Having said that, we are the world's leading economic and military power, and I think this does influence Americans' opinions of their country. Growing up, I always knew that many countries around the world were dependent on us. I always knew that Europeans "hate us cause they aint us," because, you know, we're the best and all that.
I think it's kind of serious and not-serious at the same time. Hard question to answer.

I think a lot of people genuinely don't like Americans (I love you guys, so this isn't me speaking) because they have no awareness of cultures and nations outside their own borders.
For example, Ireland and the UK, while being two different nations, are able to understand each other's accents, their slang and their culture (fanny for vagina, using the phrase 'innit?' at the end of a sentence (though us Irish tend to say 'nit?' instead), etc). We share a lot in common with Central Europeans too.
