Lots of fertile land that is good for agriculture + old civilisations.

They used to be pretty poor. This leads to lots of kids because they need people to take care of them when they are old. Same shit in Africa excepts India and China have food.

Having children in Europe is too expense. Housing, feeding, clothing them at European standards cost a fortune. Most people are now thinking that money is better spent on themselves.

India and China is further south and that means more harvest every year.
For India it's because they took to industrial agriculture quickly and never experienced the growth slowdown western societies did. Lots of food plus no real opposition not to continue having 4+ kids means their already large population had the chance to double in size.
For China it was manufactured by the state.
