What was the last good year for the Internet before normies, cucks, SJWs, women, and rampant degeneracy ruined it?

95*, Windows 95 made computers and the Internet accessible to normies, the normification of computers and the Internet started in 1996.

You sure? Weren't you still considered a """"""""""""NEEEEEEEEERRRDDDDD""""""""""'""" if you had a PC back then?

nah 2009 is when it was in its sun light, we already died, and tumblr was making shit retarded. 08 is when it began.

Even though 2006 was a good year online, it was already being flooded with normalfags.. They all were rushing in to make their Xangas, LJs, and MySpaces. 2006 was the first flood of newfags really.

But it gave us some truly ebin bantz thanks to LJDrama.org

2007, youtube was still good

After a nigger became president of usa.

The normification of the Internet and computers began late 95/early 96, but the Internet and computers still had the nerd stigma until about 2006. This change was mainly due to ebay and social networking, imo.
>>
>>71500787
2008 was the last good year but it started to decline by 2002-ish probably.

2009 was just like "enough. Work and news only from now on"
>>
>>71500787

I know it's late, but honestly everything up till 2014 was really tolerable until the concept of SJW's was solidified by giving them their own acronym. After that it has been a sheer, relentless free fall of this obnoxious garbage. I really hope this doesn't go on for the next few decades, I liked having a less polarized internet. This shit is fucking exhausting.

>Be young and coming-of-age
>Find a place where you and your friends can hang out and be a gang and give each other shit, and smoke and talk about all the shit you can't talk about with your parents
>Live it long enough to watch the best of you rise and fall, some of you move on, and maybe a few learn a thing or two
>A younger generation moves in, and wanting to be like you, become un-genuine and generally shit things up trying to be what they think is cool, and just come off as sad
>You move on

Welcome to Life 1.0, where the graphics are great, but the grind is terrible. And there are no respawns.

The change was due to women realizing you can further your social status with the help of computers. The transformation is quite amazing if you think about it: computers went from being something only "nerds" cared about to something that's 80% of the time in front of any woman's face in less than 10 years.

This is all because of the iPhone.

Thanks for this thread OP. I've had a personal theory that "Middle Aged 'Soccer Moms' ruined the Internet" for awhile now. I'm glad other people feel the same way.

Gonna throw in with 2006 as well, obviously the Internet was mainstream before then but that is when the overall atmosphere changed and people started using their real names.

I'm a level 35 accountant with a chair and desk for my toolkit. Thanks for my mulatto genes my dick freezes in the winter. Me and my guildmates raid night club s for women but never get any rare loot. I have life alert support in case my negative five cardiovascular level gives out. My girlfriend is irish but dresses like a French whore for sexual buffs.

These. Even with the mass influx of normies it was still pretty good overall. '08 was when it starting noticeably going to shit.
>>
>>71500787

1996 was my last "good" year. I have had good moments since then, but I couldn't call any year a good year since then.

society basically turned to shit in the late 90s anyway, you're not alone
>>
2004-2006 was the golden age for me. And I say this as someone who has been using the internet almost constantly since 1997.

>high-speed internet was common enough that you could browse the web, play games, watch videos, etc. to your heart's content
>the social media contagion was isolated to individual websites such as MySpace, Friendster, and Facebook (when it was just for university students)
>the strongest internet surveillance tools were not yet developed
>vBulletin forums were still a thing
>chat rooms were still a thing
>4chan was less cancerous
>memes and internet catchphrases were objectively better
>Digg was still more popular than reddit
>people still used slashdot

And the list goes on.

93 is it. All the national commercial BBS services launched Windows versions, AOL inflicted Eternal September upon Usenet, Mosaic debuted and fueled the Web cancer, POTUS sent email, and commercial media interests like Time started staking claims.

Computer networking was all hobbyists, specialists, academics and military before 1993.
