Democracy only works if people vote for those men and women they think will be more good than bad. Voting for the person who will be least bad has resulted in bad politicians becoming common place.
voting for the lesser of two evils, the least bad candidate, the safety pick, etc, has perpetuated the two party system. People say voting for bernie or paul, or gary is shortsighted, but I say the reverse is: not voting for the candidate you actually want in the white house is short sighted: it delays the death of the two party system, and ensures a long period under the tyranny of only having two meaningful options to vote for. Every vote for a third party or write in is a victory for the long term health of america.
