So DE safety razors have been working well for me.

It is not as easy to shave if you are shaving every day or every other day. If you let the whiskers get long enough to start clogging the cartridge razor, then the straight razor takes over, because you can lather up and shave a full on Grizzly Adams beard in one pass. I think I'm at 2 weeks growth now, and I'd have to take the clippers to my face if I were to shave with a normal razor.
