I never agree with "X ethnicity was exterminated" things unless there was a clear, concentrated effort to genocide a population. This did not occur in Dacia; furthermore, even if it did, Moldova for example had "free dacians" that were not under roman rule and coud not be exterminated.
In fact, I'll go on and extend this to another example; Turkey. Turkey is genetically Anatolian (+ some balkanic genes) - if you take a turkmenistani (for our purposes, let's say they're closest to the original turks) and a turk, you will find the turk does not resemble the turkmenistani. This is because turkish culture and religion was enforced, but the original invading population was assimilated into the anatolian one.
Same goes for Hungary actually, they're not the original magyar nomads, they've long since mixed in with slavs, germans and yes, romanians. You can see this in the haplogroup map, they're not that different from their neighbours.
