Socialism and communism would be fantastic systems if there were no corruption, laziness, jealousy, or emotions. They would be perfect for robots.
Capitalism is not a perfect system but it's the best we've got for the moment. Although it seems to be reaching it's peak. Jobs are becoming more streamlined/efficient/automated and the population keeps rising (not to mention older people not retiring/dying and freeing up the top rung of the ladder). "Free" healthcare would ruin any pharmaceutical industry we have left. Single payer healthcare gets rid of insurance companies that pay full price for prescription medication. The government pays roughly 30%-50% of the actual drug cost which results in profit loss. The reason rare disease drugs cost what they do is because inelastic demand meets a very small population, any money made is sent into research and development.
"Free" college under Bernie's plan could cripple our stock market. He's imposing a tax on stock trades which will result in money being pulled out of the market. Universal college would over saturate our job market further by adding more degrees while less jobs are available while stealing hopefuls from trade programs because of the "college =success" stigma.
Socialism in itself is derived from the success of capitalism and the free market. "Successful" socialist countries are those with a sparse population, these countries wind up being funded through foreign aid. The amount of success vs failure when discussing socialism is extremely disproportionate.

As for "other countries able to have free shit" I can say that most of these countries, the health care system is not that great, though yeah, it's accessible by everyone but it's evenly terrible, there isn't bad health care for poor people nor there is excellent health care for rich people, it just is mediocre through and through. Besides most people even here opt to go private if they can afford it, and there are a lot of people with insurance through employment which is essentially private.
As for education, it's pretty much the same story as health care, mediocrity as far as eye can see. Look up the list of best universities and you can almost count the best public ones with single hand.
So great, everything is free, but completely mediocre. And not to mention, if you have couple of bad governments the whole system is in a crisis, or if you have an influx of people like in Sweden the system is in crisis, or the market shifts and can't react to it in time the system is in crisis.
So it's not that hot. Trust me. It has a metric ton of serious fucking problems when you look at it broadly.
