And the camps with dead people in them could be from starvation and disease. A lot of German soldiers died in allied camps AFTER the war too.
As far as the footage goes it's quite easy to construct a false narrative. Shoot a german and undress him, now you can say he was a civilian that was tortured and murdered by the SS.
At the Bergen-Belsen liberation a lot of the camerawork was on order of Sidney Bernstein of the Psychological Warfare Division. Does that sound like a highly impartial documentary crew, or someone who might spin things for propaganda purpose?
It's perfectly well understandable why they did it, but it's equally perfectly understandable why there's extreme reliability issues of all the material.
