ITT: Uncomfortable facts for /pol/.

In times of prosperity, "degeneracy" flourishes. In times of hardship, decency is the call of the day. Just look at the roaring 20's, it was the height of hedonism, materialism, and individualism and it was a great time to live. "Degeneracy", as /pol/ calls it, is life-affirming.

Doesn't make it any less degenerate.

This is true.
Also, women's fashion tends to follow the stock market. When the stock market is doing very well, dresses tend to be shorter. When stocks are not doing well (ie. like in the 1970s), dresses tend to be longer.
This is known as the "hemline indicator" promoted by Thomas Granville.

Adversity makes men, prosperity makes monsters.

That's because to go back to a real non-degenerate society you need to return to an era when stocks (i.e. usury) didn't exist.

>not the pendulum swinging back towards downfall

No, it's a self-correction taking place. Capitalistic societies can withstand it, despite taking massive damage economically and morally.

Degeneracy reigns when society is on the brink of downfall. All we can do is hope that our traditions will save us from the consequences.

When a population of deer has abundant food, they always produce twin children. This causes a population spike, consumption of all available resources, famine, and then a population crash. Hunting exists in north america to avoid the population crash to keep the deer population at healthy levels. "hunting" is not only life-affirming, but life preserving. There are several parallels here fampai.
