Ch*vez, Maduro, and Chavismo (comunism + SJW shit)

But if Communism was the issue, then hyperinflation would've kicked in when the Communist party took over. Why now is the currency so worthless?

Because their economy was wholly reliant on oil, when the price of oil crashed so did the value of their currency
>>
This makes me so happy. I love seeing people suffer under socialism. It makes my heart ache with joy.

Get a real system, fags.

In much the same way that the Saudi Kings spoil their people with Oil Money to keep them complacent, Venezuela ' s socialist party also gave the people tons of free shit. Unlike Saudi Arabia however, they had nothing to fall back on when oil collapsed and it has destroyed the economy.
>>
>>71380614
A better question is how long before this happens in the USA, and how much worse than this will it get before the reset button gets hit
>>
>>71380833

They didn't switch over to full commie mode like a light switch. It took a long time to threaten and loot their way there. Chavez did most of the work and Maduro is going for his cut now.

It won't the US has the infrastructure to actually transition over to renewable energy. While we all drive electric cars and have solar panels on our roofs in 20 years, the rest of the world will literally be collapsing because of fossil fuel reliance
>>
Big Government, poor administration of public institutions, corruption, socialist government, bad regulations, government seized the means of production (more than 2,000 companies) of which 90% have gone bankrupt.

Note: lived in Venezuela from 2012-2015

How can I profit from this?

If you live in the US now, why did you temporarily live in Venezuela? Why the fuck would you want to reside there?
>>
>>71381357
>energy
The problem in Venezuela has to do with the complete widespread ignorance of economic laws, and your ignorance only shows how easily it can happen here.

Under socialism you will have absolutely no idea how to allocate resources, or where to drive in your fictional love-mobile which takes several acres of solar panels per car to run (you also suck at physics)

Currency was weak before the prices of the oil collapsed. Venezuela imports everything they have since they don't produce anything.
>>
>>71381495
I'm Venezuelan, I have family in Venezuela so I decided to move over there when things weren't so bad.

It was a real culture shock though since i lived in the U.S. All my life, suddenly finding yourself in a situation where you don't find toilet paper or food was frustrating to say the least.

Wait does your image mean that Nicholas, "The Mustache" Maduro is really Colombian and not Venezuelan?

Whenever I hear some middle-class 20 year old American college student saying he's communist or socialist it sort of triggers me.

The collapse came way before the oil prices dropped. It is the system the government uses to remain in power. This is how they do it:

>1) Put a currency exchange control in place so only the government has access to dollars (or any other currency for that matter).

>2) A currency black market is created. Because so few people have access to dollars, those who do not are willing to pay more to buy it illegally. You can sell dollars for 2, 5, 10 times the price the government says they are worth.

>3) Devalue the currency as fast as you can. The government is then able to buy dollars at the legal rate, and sell them to the venezuelans for 2, 5, 10 times its price. Then they buy dollars again at the legal fare. This way you can multiply your money in 2 transactions.

>4) Venezuelans need dollars because they earn their salaries in bolivars (their currency) and it devalues so fast that it is impossible to save. Next year, anything you save will be worth a third or even less of what it was worth when you earned it. So the only way to save money is to buy a different currency.

>5) This also works as a way to close your borders and prevent people from fleeing. If you cannot buy other currencies and your money isn't accepted in any other country you are basically stuck.

This is how the Venezuelan government keeps its own system afloat. They exploit this to pay bribes to the military and to pay for gibs to the venezuelan "people". As well as financing the RevoluciĆ³n in countries such as Argentina, Nicaragua, Cuba, etc.

Even in the 80s 2/3rds of the people were directly employed by the government.

In the USA it's about a million if you include contractors which is a powerful special interest, but in Venezuela the whole system literally has to collapse before things can improve :(
>>
>>71380614
Because the country was weak already and oil prices crashing bent it over and sodomized it.
>>
>>71382151

Did you know anyone who supported Chavez and came to regret their decision? Everything that I have read seams to suggest that they blame Maduro and not Socialism. It's hard to be sympathetic when it seems like most people still support the system that ruined them.
>>
>>71382151
This is true, a friend of mine who works for AA said that people would buy plane tickets in bolivars and then get refunds in US dollars. They basically were selling plane tickets and using them as money.

photos were leaked of a Party official's wedding party recently, they had a bottle of champagne worth 5000 usd

meanwhile the country starves and the military is executing people

no wonder people turn to socialism. they think they'll be the ones dancing and drinking expensive things for party loyalty
>>
>>71383174

MANY people who supported Chavez regretted it afterwards. Especially the middle class Venezuelans who believed in his campaign and in him when he said he was a democrat and a capitalist. He only admitted he was a socialist on his 2nd term.

The vast majority of his supporters however were people from the favelas: poor and mostly black. They believed in him like he was the Messiah and most of them still believe in him because they were dirt poor before him and continue to be so. The only difference is now almost everyone else is just as poor as they are, in their eyes it is an improvement.
