Literally everything after high school is a crapshoot. No matter how hard you work, some people will make it, others won't. I wouldn't recommend going to school for it; you'll just waste your money learning things you could easily teach yourself, and those music production / audio engineer / whatever degrees are garbage. I honestly wouldn't even recommend it as a career path at all, just do it as a hobby and if you can turn it into money then do, but definitely have a practical career path lined up. Music is such a competitive industry these days that you need to be both extremely good and extremely motivated to actually get anywhere, and even then I've heard it's very difficult.
