Cyclists should either have designated riding paths, LIKE IN PARKS...or cyclists that intend to use the roads as cars and commercial vehicles should also be required to pay tax, registration and insurance.
Cyclists are very degenerate:

If they want to use the road, they should have to pay registration and use license plates like the cars, otherwise they shouldn't be treated like one. Period.

While it is true they don't wear the roads as much, bike traffic still requires bike lane upkeep, police enforcement, and weight is the not the only thing that wears roads - ground and temperature fluctuations, requiring repainting, etc.

They don't all use them. They have them on most roads here and some insist on driving in the middle of the road, so I tailgate them. Others ride right on the line so I try to get my mirror to touch them. The bike lanes like 3ft wide. There's no reason to do what they do. One day I'll ram one off their bike.
