I remember batou asking major why she chose a feminine shell and then her hacking his system and causing him to bash himself in the face.
The full human guy was actually one of the better characters.
The main problem though is that the Major specifically picked how she looked so she could blend in with other cyborgs in Japan. Other cyborgs of a specific country would likely try to blend in with the natural populace, so having somebody that is the polar opposite play the part of a cyborg living in Japan makes absolutely no sense.
Also, the film is still set in Tokyo but is being filmed in New York with all of the signs painted over with katakana in after effects.
