Strewth mates
>>
Here's to hoping the vote isn't rigged. We may actually have a chance.
>>
seems to me like every poll where you actually have to make an effort to declare your affiliation gives Leave a huge lead, whereas all the ones where your opinion is solicited (like telephone polls or whatever) shows it as an even split

that gives me confidence that the turnout for Brexiteers will be much better than the Remainians on the actual day
>>
I'm torn on this, one I think it would be good if Britain left the EU but I read a story about that might lead to non-visa travel between commonwealth nations and I don't want the Pakis to be able to get over here even easier.

I doubt that poll is from a representative sample. If you poll a bunch of /pol/ tards you tend to get a different answer than the typical normies.

Scots are alright in my experience.
The only reason they're left is because they dont really have any experience with Muslims as they're all in England or Wales. i feel if Scots saw mudshits for what they actually were instead of what the media shovels them there'd be more right-wing scots.
>>

There's a lot in Glasgow from what I've seen. They're always being horrible parasites, of course. I feel like Scots are so leftist as well is because so many of them think that they were cheated out by the Tories or something.
>>
>>71372330
What's the actual feeling in Scotland about the average English person? I have never been to Scotland but feel like I would be hated if I did by at least half the population.

I understand hating the English politicians because we all do.

>>
>>71372330
Most of my family is uncucked as well. We all have the same views on Muslims and SNP shills.
>>71372442
Most Scottish people are cool with English people apart from the banter about their accent which Scots probably think is feminine to them. The ones that actually have a chip-on-their-shoulder about them are low-lives that scrounge off the state and because Tories don't like scroungers they cling to the SNP teat.

Would it actually be beneficial for us to keep silent about the referundum now? Every time I see BBC propaganda on TV I just think about the undecided idiots who will believe any lie they are told.
Everyone who wants out of Europe has taken this stance already, the only undecided people left are more likely to swing into stay out of fear.

The shilling during June is going to be unbearable. Thank God we can really on the majority of people not being bothered to vote at all.
>>
>>71373493
The thing is, EVERY internet poll you see is similar to this. Even article comments show the same. ~80%+ in favour of leave. It's only the polls done by the MSM that show a close race. I'm just not convinced this shit isn't going to be rigged.

There's certainly no urgent need for the Leave camp to go on the offensive, seeing as we're doing great as it is. We've got the oldie vote, the youth vote doesn't count for shit because none of them actually bother to vote, and public opinion (even on government mouthpieces like Question Time) seems to be in favour of Brexit. Both sides will turn up the heat in the final month before the referendum, but for the moment everything is going our way.

But your state-run media won't be. To avoid getting the undecided portion voting to stay, you need to create counter-propaganda. I'm literally talking leaflets, posters, spamming social networks etc. People need to be redpilled if this is going to happen. You can draw tons of material from Nigel's speeches.
>>
>>71374175
This desu.

All the Leave campaign have to do is just take pot shots at the government's hilarious "THE SKY WILL FALL IF YOU VOTE TO LEAVE" propaganda and then in the last month make the moral case for the exit.

I realised that there wasn't any real economic incentive to stay. We get EU trade, but - seeing as we have the second highest GDP in the EU and are the largest exporter of oil in the EU - we will trade with the EU anyway. We pay £10 billion per year to stay for this wonderful "incentive" whilst cockblocking ourselves with emerging economies, China, the Commonwealth etc.

There is no way in which control of our own borders is a bad thing; the prospect of Turkey joining the EU leaves me with the image attached as a mental image.

Very valid reasoning, and a good point about emerging economies; outside the EU we could forge lucrative trade deals with China, a country that is enthusiastic for trade but won't demand freedom of movement like EU countries do.

Not to mention the fact that if we leave, the EU will undoubtedly lose other countries, so we'll hardly be alone outside the EU.
>>
>>71369610
> I read a story about that might lead to non-visa travel between commonwealth nations and I don't want the Pakis to be able to get over here even easier.

That makes no sense to me.

Once you're out of the EU, the UK should have all the control it needs over its own borders. I thought that was one of the main benefits of leaving -- for the UK to get control back.
>>
It will be a close race, unless in the worryingly unsurprising event of a terrorist attack most of the undecided will vote to leave. I'm pretty comfy and think we'll leave.. Unless it's rigged...
>>
>>71373925
I'd hope so, but this referendum is turning into a classic battle between the people vs the elites. How often do the people win that battle? I think we'll win this vote by the silent majority. This is typically British. People don't complain much, but they'll turn up to vote on this shit. The problem is, the establishment can manipulate the whole thing and the British people won't really question it.

I don't think most people are stupid enough to fall for propaganda to the extent that Cameron hopes for. I think Obama showing up to voice his opinion will actually piss enough people off to vote out when they didn't care before. Cameron is that detached from reality. But I've just become so cynical that I can easily see them fixing the whole thing. A Federalist undemocratic Europe seems too important to the establishment to be ruined by something as trivial as the wishes of the general public.
>>
Prove me if I'm wrong but I'm almost sure we lost 8.5 billion to the EU last year.

Is that feasible? Is it possible that the people will vote to leave, but then the government simply ignores the result of the vote and finds some way to avoid implementing the exit? How likely is that? And what would be the political fallout afterward?
>>

The Human Rights Act prevents us from appropriately tackling Islamisation, this legislation comes from direct effect of European Directives.

I.e. the stories you hear of self admitted terrorists or Muslim preachers who are only hear to radicalise as many people as possible - who cannot be deported - is because of the human rights act. These EU directives force us to keep them here when they should be summarily executed.
>>
Good luck, britpol. God speed. Genuinely hope for you guys that the referendum either gets you out of the EU(you know it wont) or causes such a stir, there's a civil war.
>>
>>71376783
About 2/3 or more of MPs want to stay in (95% of Labour, half the tories, all of the small parties except UKIP and the DUP), so the commons in theory could ignore it.
There would be a crisis of government though since half the PMs own party would turn on him and the government would lose a vote of confidence. The outrage would either cause the tories to split in two with a faction demanding to honour the result winning a lot of votes or a UKIP landslide.

I can't see them doing it, it would be political suicide for the entire establishment.
>>

It'd be a first step to ending mass immigration at least. Without leaving the government cannot stop immigration completely. And it'd fuck up Cameron and Osbourne for life and hopefully give us a Boris/Gove/IDS triumvirate in power for a bit.
>>
>>71376783
> Is that feasible?

They couldn't do it officially. I'm talking about actual corruption, rigging the vote. There is no way Cameron could just ignore the vote. That'd be the equivalent of a constitutional crisis like congress ignoring a supreme court ruling in the US.

>>71376813
Well they are. Fortunately it's clearly going to do more harm than good. As Boris rightly says, the Americans won't even give up minor sovereignty to basic things like the fucking international maritime rules - so they have no business telling anyone else to give up sovereignty.
>>
>>71377019

Thanks. That makes sense.

> half the PMs own party would turn on him and the government would lose a vote of confidence

I've read that the PM could be forced out anyway if the people vote to stay -- especially if the vote is close. Is that true? If so, why?
>>
>>71369677
CRASHING THIS UNION
>>
>>71377974
Cameron's future is entirely political. It's politically ridiculous for him to campaign to stay, lose the referendum, then negotiate new terms with Europe after he lost. If he delegated the renegotiation to a minister who supported Brexit to a minister who openly supported Brexit and the party trusted - that could work. But if he tried to just flip sides on the issue after the fact, how could anyone have confidence in him?
>>
>>71377974
>I've read that the PM could be forced out anyway if the people vote to stay -- especially if the vote is close. Is that true? If so, why?
He's only PM since he's the leader of the conservative party. The base of the party, its registered members are about 70% pro-brexit, Cameron is relying on Labour voters and Scots to keep us in. So even if he wins the referendum if the backbenchers call a leadership contest against him (voted on by only tory voters) he could very easily lose to someone like Boris Johnson or Michael Gove who supports leaving. He would have to resign as PM.
Since the Conservatives would still have 331/650 MPs in the commons, the new leader would customarily be asked by the Queen to form a new government and become PM.
>>
>>71377608
>They couldn't do it officially. I'm talking about actual corruption, rigging the vote. There is no way Cameron could just ignore the vote. That'd be the equivalent of a constitutional crisis like congress ignoring a supreme court ruling in the US.

Couldn't the commons just hold another vote afterward to override the result of the people's vote?
>>
>>71377376
Agreed, but through propaganda and use of the BBC ect. They're most sure pushing to stay. But I genuinely think they won't use dirty tricks and deception to achieve what they want.

>>71377511
Agreed. I think they know they've took a massive hit already with current affairs and the party split on the referendum. Imagine, more votes for that fucking communist. I can't stand that man, the fact he's even the opposition leader baffles me. Literally all the labour voters I know consider him unelectable.
>>
>>71378391
Yes but there would be a constitutional crisis of a size never seen before in this country. It would literally destroy all of the political class.
>>
>>71378398
>I can't stand that man, the fact he's even the opposition leader baffles me. Literally all the labour voters I know consider him unelectable.
It was uni students who signed up quickly who voted for the cunt. It's why a lifelong left Eurosceptic like him has suddenly come out for staying in something very neoliberal at its core. He knows his base are nu-left EU lovers and so he flip flopped hard.
Principled man my fucking arse.
>>
>>71369512
It's basically the shy tory vote from the last election
>>
>>71378304
>The base of the party, its registered members are about 70% pro-brexit, Cameron is relying on Labour voters and Scots to keep us in.

It sounds like this was a suicide mission by the PM from the beginning. Bucking 70% of his own party? What was he thinking?
>>

He had to promise the referendum or face losing loads of his own voters to UKIP (who hoovered up a lot of working class Labour voters because they didn't promise one) and possibly a lot more of his own MPs (after two defected in 2014 to UKIP, one of whom was re-elected in 2015). I think he misjudged the anti-EU sentiment amongst his own party at the time, but was then stuck with his position unless he wanted to look like a useless flip-flopping melt.

>Yes but there would be a constitutional crisis

That's surprising to me. Would it actually be in violation of established law for the commons to vote to override the result of the referendum? Don't they have absolute power over this?

I can certainly understand how it would be a devastating political crisis for all involved. But what is it specifically that would make it a "constitutional" crisis?

The majority of Northern Ireland will vote Leave. We may have fucking Socialists and Liberal Terrorists flooding our power networks but we still have the fucking crazy youth that somehow believe more in Freedom than the Adults and is willing to riot for it. No doubt they will turn out in huge numbers to vote.

Our population is fucking tiny but atleast there's an extra 1,000,000 votes for Leave.

Deus Vult, Mainlanders!

It truly is ridiculous. The way he rules his party is communist
>don't believe in everything I say?
>you're fired
How he wants to give back the Falklands is him spitting on every grave stone who died for it, even though they genuinely have no right to that land. I could never of foretold the coming of two far left politicians even being considered for ruling a country like ours or America.

This is where British constitutional law gets a bit bizarre. Legally, because of the doctrine of Parliamentary Sovereignty, parliament can do whatever it pleases (legally they can pass a law proclaiming all ginger haired baby boys illegal). But politically, they can't defy a referendum.

Further, the doctrine of parliamentary sovereignty, which was once considered absolute, is no longer absolute by virtue of the primacy of EU law. Now EU law supersedes Acts of Parliament. They've devalued their own sovereignty by cucking themselves to EU directives. This is why I feel exit from the EU needs to be followed by the ratification of a codified British constitution. Parliamentary sovereignty was voluntarily surrendered by parliament itself.

Thanks. That's what I was looking for. Makes sense.

>Would it actually be in violation of established law for the commons to vote to override the result of the referendum?
No it would not, parliament is sovereign and all. But it's a constitutional crisis in the same way there would be one if the Queen refused assent to a bill, there's not any real reason she couldn't she has the power, but it would cause the end of the monarchy regardless as it defied our established democracy. The UK runs on a whole lot of convention and precedent, ignoring the result would be against every democratic convention set in this country since the mid-1800s.
We honestly do need to codify things, I just don't trust the modern political class not to fill it with tranny rights, bans on "hate speech" and other such garbage.

I need to start looking into this desu, I haven't given it much thought because I've been too busy doing fuck all.

A lot of my friends are sjws who are voting IN because of the fact they think the whole OUT campaign is against muslims lol. Obviously it's not the case and they trigger me.

I need to have a look into reasons besides borders which would benefit us. A big concern of mine is the European army which keeps getting brought up. I mentioned this and one of my friends responses were "That would be good because we would be very strong with a huge army"

I swear the kid is retarded, we don't need a fucking huge army because nobody goes to war unless it's in a shit hole country, which isn't a necessary war.
>>
>>71379827
We are in no place to create a codified constitution. Such things are rigid, and do you really trust the politicians now to dictate out country for centuries to come?
>>
>>71367501
leave and close the borders to the rapefugees
one day I want to move there, and I want to live a decent live with my fellow britons

>"That would be good because we would be very strong with a huge army"
Europe has shit militaries outside the UK and France anyway.
>>
>>71380102
The only reason the government still respects our rights is because of a written Constitution.
>>
>>71373436
>Our records indicate you have already voted.

I got the same message. Maybe they aren't letting international IPs vote, but are too polite to say that.
>>
>>71380102
Do you trust the politicians of the next few decades to not royally cuck us?

With a codified constitution the EU wouldn't even be an issue. Such a document should take time and national consensus to ratify.
>>
>>71373783
>I'm just not convinced this shit isn't going to be rigged.

Even if it's not rigged, what is the legal force of this vote? In other words, if the people vote to leave, could the government simply say "thanks for your input, but we're staying"?
>>
>>71379827
> They've devalued their own sovereignty by cucking themselves to EU directives.
> Parliamentary sovereignty was voluntarily surrendered by parliament itself.

Ahh, now it's all clear to me. Thanks.

I was only mildly pro-exit before, but now I see what's really at stake here, and how important the exit really is. Good luck on the referendum.
>>
>>71380666
The referendum was passed through parliament as law. Besides, the majority of the party in power supports leaving, if we vote to leave and Cameron tries to fuck with that, he'd be gone before you can say 'oink'.
>>
>>71380666
Technically they could ignore it, but it would bring down the government since the backbenches would shit all over their own leadership for it.

We don't need a European Military. We have a well managed Nuclear Deterrant, we have one of the most advanced and sophisticated armed forces on the planet and besides, who the fuck would try and invade us? Nobody would fucking try and invade a Western European nation again, everyone saw what happened to Germany.

The EU also writes up Laws and Acts to implement in British Society, fitting with their Continental Mainland Structure. We should write our own laws and decide what is best for our own people.

We want no part in a European Central Bank and we must do anything we can to further ourselves from the Euro and the Eurozone Economic Crisis' that keep happening.

We must maintain control of our borders with not just Europe, but with ALL countries outside of Europe. Europe currently maintains restrictions of migration from outside the EU into the UK. We must remedy that immediately. No more taking in lazy Spaniards and Poles, more taking in Highly Skilled Asians, Americans, BLOC Members, Russians, Indians. It's not racist to pick the best black guy on the football team. If anything about this refugee mess has taught us, Europe can not and will not enforce the Schengen Agreement. What's to say that they won't enforce other laws that are in existence to protect their member states' Citizens?

Vote Leave. Vote Out. Vote Go. VOTE. It is your democratic right, given to you by Magne Carte, taken from you by Europe.

May God bless us all.

BRITAIN WILL OPTIMISE ITS POSITION BETWEEN THE USA AND THE CONTINENT BY LEAVING THE EU WHILST NEGOCIATING NEW TREATIES
>>
The UK should leave the EU and continue to be our little cuckshed island for military purposes.
>>
>>71381142

Negotiating*. You won't win voters with spelling mistakes.

Also, we will only optimise our position between the USA and the EU by putting engines on our East Coast and driving into the middle of the Atlantic.

Kek, who isn't the US's little Military cuck shed?

>We honestly do need to codify things

I understand now. Thanks.

Since I'm American, I'm used to constitutional issues being more explicitly documented. I can see how messy things can get when the rules aren't codified.
>>
>>71381453

It's just because our Constitution is written on the same fabric that created the Universe.
>>
>>71381727

Plus all our laws are still written on fucking Papyrus and stored in a huge library.
>>
>>71381453
Our "constitution" is a real mess. There is no document that ever defined the role of prime minister. It just slowly took shape over time, initially from cabinets nominating a spokesman to the Monarch, and operates on precedent. Same thing with royal assent to bills, the Queen technically can withhold assent to anything parliament passes, but no monarch has done so since 1707 (and even then Queen Anne did so on advice of her government) and to do so today would almost certainly mean the end of the monarchy.

Our constitution is a collection of acts, from the still enforced parts of the Magna Carta, the acts of union in 1707 and 1800, the 1689 Bill of Rights, The Parliament acts 1911 and 1949, the Human Rights Act and many other bits of legislation that affect the operation of the state and the rights of the people.
