Collegefag here, in the summers I work in a warehouse. Worked for this company for 6 years now, pretty great place, smallish company. The boss of the warehouse reports directly to the owner of the whole thing and gets to do pretty much whatever he wants (Owner deals with various local officials that we have to get a bunch of permits from and whatnot every year, don't know what his other duties are other than being absurdly rich). Only concession is that the boss's daughter gets to work in the office, which would be fine but she always thinks she knows the right way to do things, which is invariably the dumbest way possible.
She's also largely in charge of setting up shit in the field, which is largely the responsibility of us warehouse folks. She has a diagram of exactly where every single item goes on the shelves (we put out a few rows of each item so the employees know where shit goes when they arrive). Normally, this would be fine. Except that she shits bricks whenever we don't follow the diagram exactly, there are at least 5 different diagrams for different types of locations, and half the time she doesn't even bother to give us her sacred layout diagrams.
At the end of the season once, we were cleaning the warehouse (it's pretty much unused the rest of the year, just storage) and she told me to sweep the entire warehouse. No problem, get that shit done, ask what's next. She tells me to sweep the part of the part of the parking lot in front of the warehouse, since there's lots of dust and the occasional splinter from pallets.
She wants me to sweep the dust off an outdoor parking lot. A parking lot that will get rained on in the next few days. And she wants me to spend a fucking half hour sweeping it.

Fortunately we tend to avoid that kind of shit. The warehouse crew is almost always college students who either fuck each other or don't. The biggest problems we've had with people who work in the warehouse rather than the office are usually the result of people getting incredibly wasted on a week night. I'm talking people who stopped drinking at 4 or 5 in the morning and show up to work at 8 still drunk. That happened to two guys on two different occasions, each time we gave them shit and made them do the most miserable tasks, then let them go back to sleep in the car (there are a few tasks that only take a few minutes but are absolutely soulcrushing, especially after you've done them several times a day for weeks on end).
