Trump's China memes aside, I read an article on thediplomat.com that said that Hillary's China policy was supposed to be more agressive, while Trump advocated for strategic cooperation and mutual assistance.

Honestly? We get products for cheap.
However, the question must be asked: by how much?
The US has sources of energy- nuclear materials, coal,oil natural gas, raging rivers.
It has raw materials- oil, minerals, agriculture-
It has a workforce over 100 million strong.
It has a lot of capital and a sophisticated structure of employing it.
We can be an autarky if we wanted to.
