Pol's opinion on smoking in pubs.
Smoking in pubs should be legal again cos it's part of of our culture and it's what makes a manly pub manly. Plus it'd increase customers in pubs and we'd gain more money on tobacco sales. Pub owners deserve to have the choice

Wait, they don't make Freddo frogs anymore!?
>>
>>71132254

I usually smoke when I'm drinking... but no thanks, I don't want that shit back.

If you want a smoke, go outside.

Of course it should be legal, drinking and smoking go together.

I think it's all part of a systematic breaking down of all things masculine. The American revolution from you bongs was planned in taverns, which is why feminism infiltrates male spaces.

No they just cost way more. I saw some in a paki shop for 70p each

You could have separate rooms in pubs for smoking
>>
>>71132254
Should be allowed. Nonesmokers always had cafés, restaurants or nightclubs, that didn't and still don't allow smoking indoors. Everyone knows what to expect at a bar, so they can't bitch about smoking. It's like going to a danceclub and getting 'offended' that they play loud music.

>>
>>71132254
Smoking is for minorities, poor people, and wiggers. They should be allowed to destroy themselves in the hovels where they gather so yes, smoking in pubs should be up to the owner of the pub.
>>
>>71132254
Pubs should have the choice. Smoking pubs should be default and signs could indicate non-smoking pubs (of course they'd suffer, but free market..)
>>
I like having to get up off the bar stool and walk outside to smoke. When smoking was allowed indoors, I would stay seated on the bar stool for hours, and then when I stood up and tried to function I realized I was way more drunk than I thought I was. This lead to some difficult situations.
>>
>>71133106
What about having to piss, or drinking spirits?
>>
My opinion is biased but I think they should be allowed. In this commie town 20 miles away, you aren't allowed to smoke in the bars, and you're not even allowed to walk outside for a cigarette because they've banned public smoking on the main street where all the bars are located. It's a load of shit.
>>
>>71133749
No freedom these days mate
>>
Pubs, what pubs?
My town used to have ten pubs one dating to circa 17th century.
Now there are just 2 left and they are struggling to keep open and not become blocks of flats.
People just stopped going out drinking.
>>
Freedom to do in your property what you want. Dont care if its degenerate.
>>
I'm from New Orleans and smoking and drinking is a huge part of our culture and I find it very weird that people cannot smoke cigarettes in bars anymore

At least we can still drink in public
>>
If people hate smoking so much, then a bar could cater to that demographic.

Free market niggers. Also I miss a nice smokey pub.
>>
>>71134023
Yeah my village used to have thirteen and now we have 3. Granted the main pub got shut down cos too many fights and people getting stabbed but that was my favourite pub
>>

Do you live in Scotland by any chance? the drinking limit for driving is so fucking stupid no one (especially out in the country) bothers to come to pubs anymore.

Used to be about 8 pubs in 2004 in my area alone now its 2 (becasue they either went under or got burnt down), 1 of which had someone shot in the other month and the other one is really nice but is struggling because everyone goes in to the town center to drink and go to clubs...gotta love Liverpool...help me

He would indeed. He got pissed off cos he got told off for smoking OUTSIDE the pub entrance. He came back with a witty response "what is the ceiling not high enough?". I love that man so much plus he wants to legalise pub smoking

>>
>>71132254
I remember hearing in japan they have these vents above the booths so you could actually smoke and the table next to you would have no chance of smelling or breathing it in. Don't know if it'd be that expensive.
>>
>>71134359
Outer London town.
I don't know if its the cost of going out & not the smoking ban that killed pubs?

A single pint here is like £3-4 and I can get 4 cans for that price, drink at home, have a smoke and not get into a fight
>>
Smoking is fucking disgusting and retarded but I agree that the owners should have the final word on if they allow it or not.

It's been illegal in australia for years now. Some states they have included outdoor cafes and the last city i lived in, you had to smoke 20m away from the pub or club. Freddo frogs here suck now. They made them smaller and stoped using the chocolate they had and used normal block chocolate.

Well in our country, the tax is so high that it alone is greater than the sum of the product.

The tax is so high that smokers pay-in greater than they take-out in our NHS. We smokers keep everyone else healthy.

I feel like if the owner wants it, they can get a license to allow smoking. Just require them to have a good ventilation system.

Smoking inside is generally illegal here, except for in casinos.

Every part of your post, OP, is bullshit except the last sentence.
I hated going in pubs and coming back smelling of smoke, and being 40 years old and an ex smoker, I've been in more than my fair share.
But the landlord should choose. It has contributed to the death of the pub as we know it, and now I have to contend with gastro-pubs & micro breweries.
Ffs
But god, even as a smoker I hated the stale smoke smell from pubs as they were.
Landlord choice, definitely!

you're damn right, I don't smoke but saddened by the fact they had to ban smoking in pubs, it took all the atmosphere out of them, I hate the smell of smoke but when I walk into a pub I expect the smell of lager and smoke in the air as people chat and play pool or darts, pubs aren't pubs anymore, its just not the same.
As a non-smoker I have the choice not to go in that pub, I could head to a wine bar or some shit, but I want the full pub atmosphere.

Pubs should be able to set the rules.

Either have smoking or non-smoking sections, smoking or non-smoking pubs. There's literally no reason to do it other than "Bad goy smoking is bad for you so we're going to directly legislate your leisure habits because you have state controlled healthcare".

Make the establishment provide the staff with fucking gas masks and rename it to "Planecrasher's Arms" so they don't have to breathe it on the job if you have to, nobody wants to leave their drink inside and stand in the cold and rain like a fucking putz to have a cigarette which should be enjoyable and relaxing.
