Since i served in the airborne troops we did a lot of training with parachutes and jumps obviously. Some officers leave all the enforcement of rules to the low rtanking officers, like jr saergants, who are the same age conscripts like you, they are usualy butthurt about their previous mates bullying and try to compensate by bullying new consripts.

Yeah my unit is having me spend my time here preparing for the Security+ cert test, apparently we're all suppose to have it but none of us do. In AIT we did have a Security+ class it was only a week long and kind of a joke. CCNA was a very good course it was about 7 weeks broken into CCNA 1 and CCNA 2, I learned a lot from that.

at this point our platoon is so well respected no one even fucks with us. the taliban think we are pretty cool guys. but we roll up on this little village and the local cops stop us and tell us to help with a bomb. so we send in the buffalo to look for this bomb, and after about 30 minutes and no bomb found we say fuck it. so we start driving away, a 5 gun truck convoy with a 4 gun truck convoy behind it, carrying a fucking full bird. at this point the full bird is furious he isn't moving and is doing actual combat work of sitting in his fucking truck.
so we start pulling out and this afhan kid that i know because i slept at his compound once bangs on my door. i'm driving. he fucking bangs on my door so i call an all stop and i talk to him. he is fucking adamant that there IS A BOMB. but he describes it as a mine. so i look at my TC (the platoon sgt) and say "hey, fuck it, he says its a mine. lets go check it out and not step on round things."
so me and the platoon sgt dismount and we follow this guy to where he is pointing. we are joking around and shit untill the platoon sgt says 'wait'. and then i see it. a god damned 6 pack of 9 volt batteries.

i actually went to solerno twice. it is a fairly shitty base. but no one killed any americans that day, and no one got past the fucking entrance area.
but again, i don't think you ever deployed.
